My daughter had her wedding and reception here in June of 2015. The venue, food, and service were all exceptional. My daughter got the wedding she always dreamed of and was so very happy with all of it. Our expectations just kept being exceeded throughout the day!
I knew the site would be beautiful but they had it immaculate. The area for the ceremony is very picturesque and perfect for an outdoor wedding. And the reception area is just plain cool. The different levels were awesome and I just loved the feel of it. My daughter's table was up high where everyone could see, and the dance area is perfect and in the middle of all the activity. The tiers just seem like a natural part of the forest landscape and made it so everyone could see what was going on all the time, all in a beautiful outdoor setting.
The food was excellent, from the bridesmaids and groomsmens dressing rooms to the appetizers to the entrees I really don't know how it could have been better.
What really pushed it over the top and frankly actually surprised me was the level of service we received. The personal touches and attention to detail were evident everywhere I turned. The owners have put together an amazing staff who all seemed so committed to doing everything possible to make this day special for my daughter and those she cares about. I would not hesitate to recommend Stonehedge...
Read moreExtremely pretentious menu. Avoid the mushroom appetizer! 4 sticks of horrificly greasy bread in a bowl, lying in a puddle of maybe 4 sliced mushrooms swimming in a cheap sherry wine, garlic and cream. Was so acidic I vomited when I got home. The only thing that was served "relatively hot" was the soup. Which was mostly butter with tiny shreds of vegetables..my wife's meal and mine were barely room temperature when they arrived. Luke warm. 2 steaks, badly seasoned mashed potatoes, undercooked shrimp..a $9.00 caesar salad??? Service was excellent, waitress, excellent. Kitchen and food?? Absolutely disgusting! Entire meal? $124.00 + tip. This restaurant ,. I'm sorry..the wait staff is serving food that,...I'm fairly certain none of them would touch with a 10 foot pole. Sauces are gross... Steaks are of marginal quality and the cuts of meat are odd,..like scraps the butcher's couldn't sell to anyone else. We were checked on so many times by our server it was almost as if they were fearful of complaints... I don't blame them one bit. Never returning to this restaurant. Taco bell knows more about food than this kitchen. Scary, right? Prove me wrong! Stonehenge,... better fix that menu guys! ...
Read moreCharming venue. Food was good but a little uninspired when viewed alongside location and price (crab cakes and bread pudding flambé are signature items that live up to their reputation).
Hospitality left much to be desired and was the pitfall of our experience. Definitely not a family-run restaurant where the guests come first. One of the items we ordered was not presented as advertised. Rather than tell us they were out they tried to pass-off a substandard replacement without comment. A true fine dining restaurant and good chef would never have sent out an item that wasn't as advertised without first checking in with the guests to see if it would be OK. I pointed out the ruse and had most of the item taken away. When I suggested we'd appreciate having it removed from the check, the front-of-the-house manager came out in a tizzy and went so far as to say he was "pissed off" at us [for trying to hold the place to a standard]. Got really worked up: the complete opposite of what you'd expect a hospitality manager to do when conducting damage control. I graciously accepted his offer of 50% off the sad item, as the guy seemed headed for an...
