I guess the bar is just for looks?
My spouse and I have visited this location 3 times in the last year, but I doubt we’ll go again. Each time, we have walked inside and sat down at the bar, with menus are laid out every 3 or 4 feet. Each time, we are fully ignored for 5-10 minutes. We’re not perusing the menu or giving off vibes that we aren’t ready for drinks or food (we go to Moe’s at Lakeview often, we know what we want to eat).
Each time, someone has eventually said something along the lines of “do you want something? You need to order at the other counter.”
Since this has now happened 3 times, I’m assuming the first couple of times weren’t just because they were short-handed or down a bartender. I guess no one ever actually acts as a bartender here.
If the policy is that ALL orders—food and alcohol—must be placed at the other counter, then maybe coach the servers on quickly greeting customers who walk in and sit at the bar and let them know that they need to order at the other counter first.
OK, sure, we’ll order at the other counter…except no one working at the other counter has any clue about the liquor at the bar.
“One chicken sandwich plate with potato salad and mac and cheese, and a shot of Deep Eddy Lemonade and a shot of Fireball.” Followed by a very confused stare from the person working the counter.
“I don’t know anything about the bar, I don’t see those options, so I’m just going to ring it in as Lemondrops.”
OK, no. Those are pricier than two shots. Also, if we leave our tab open, do we need to get up from the bar each time to place an order for another shot at the other counter?
If you can’t place an order at the bar, what’s the point of having it? Just make everyone sit in booths and have table service. There’s no point in 20 people sitting at the bar, and then each one finishing a drink and standing single-file behind the one point-of-sale system at the other counter.
I love Moe’s. I had Moe’s catered at my wedding. The four frat guys working in Lakeview run a tight ship, but Moe’s at Brock’s Gap seems like it’s everyone’s first...
Read moreI’m a regular when I don’t feel like cooking. After calling in my order, I picked up close to closing time. After visiting this location several times per month in person or pick up, I did not have a good experience on on 1/26. Because of consistency in the quality of my orders and this was one of my favorite go to places for pick up, I called to provide feedback. As a past customer service manager I always appreciate hearing all feedback and give balanced feedback.
When I let the person know that my order was missing one order of fries, the fries for the second order were not the normal quality (overcooked) and my salad did not have the red/sauce on it as I requested. The person immediately defended herself and explained that the fries were fine because she personally packed them and she put the sauces on the side. So the order was fine for her standards just not fine for my standards. Now I told her I didn’t want a credit. It was more important to me to give the feedback. The last time something was missing from my bag I didn’t mention it until the next time I placed an order.
For the reasons above I will not patronize this location. I understand mistakes happen, but it’s not okay to blame it on your customer who had to go out to pick up a pizza for the kid who did not receive her order. Hopefully someone who understands my perspective will take my feedback into consideration for...
Read moreUpdated- Spoke with the Owner, he acknowledged the situation as well as offered to compensate my family dinner for the inconvenience. Though my experience wasn’t the best I do appreciate you reaching out.
Thanks Eric
Purchased 2 Family Meals spent $110.00 asked do they offer paper plates , was told .50 cent per plate I’ve never heard of a company charging for plates. Lady told me the plates were for the catered orders. Wow!!!! My family and I patronize this restaurant regularly however this experience was a bit different spending over $100 for anything related to food should definitely qualify for plastic plates and utensils. Got home and no barbecue sauce was provided with this $110.00 meal. I assumed barbecue sauce came with it, called back and advised the manager Olivia and she told me to drive back to get it. How incredibly inconvenient was that option. So no plates because there’s a fee and no barbecue sauce because I guess they forget to put in the bag all the things that I had paid for.
This was not our first experience with missing things, cold food etc. we give the benefit of the doubt but this type of service is just...
