Taqueria Juarez — Restaurant in Hoover

This is easily one of the best taco trucks in Birmingham. I posted their basic hours...but they're not the most consistent. They are never there on Sundays or Wednesdays. That said, they are worth taking a chance on being open.

The basic tacos are very authentic, corn tortillas, your choice of meat, onions and cilantro. The burritos and quesadillas are generous and also excellent. The hot sauces are pretty spicy, but very tasty. The price point is also decent. They also have limited covered seating available which is always a bonus for a food truck.

I know authentic style tacos (not crispy) aren't for everyone, but these are amazing. Do yourself a favor and order one each of the chicken, steak, pastor, and campechano (meat combo) to find your favorite. And if you're more adventurous, they even have meat choices not found on every menu.

And the best thing... after many, many visits, I've never had any issues with the food quality. This...

I am from out of town and was looking for some good tacos. I ordered from Uber and I will say the menu was a little misleading. The menu for “tacos” should be changed to “taco”. I didn’t realize one taco was $3.50 but because the menu was not very specific I ordered two just in case I was only buying one. I’m from a place where we get tacos for about $1.50- $2.00 max so I was hoping the “tacos” meant at least two. Anyways, overall , these tacos were great. I think the tortilla needed a little more flavor. Especially if we get two tortillas per taco. A pinch of salt would go a long way but other than that they were great. Also I am not a fan of the cucumbers.. maybe update the menu on Uber so that we can exclude unwanted items to reduce food waste.

There’s what, a dozen taco trucks or more over the mountain? And who knows how many in the birmingham metro all together. So, which one is the best? For me, this is it. The fact they have beef cheek is enough for me, but the flavors and price is all perfect. Complete with authentic cooks and ingredients, this is the taco truck for you. Located next to costas off Lorna, this is absolutely the best taco truck. The green sauce is killer, but don’t stray far from the extra hot as well. Use them as a combo.
