Davo's — Restaurant in Hopkinsville

So we'd had food delivered from here before and it wasn't great. Going in to eat was an almost completely different experience. Instead of being overcooked and hard, the fried bacon was crisp and tasty. The chicken tenders were good - they didn't have that overcooked rubbery texture. The fried mushrooms were really good. The french fries were still meh. I think I won't order those again. My husband pointed out that they are likely better with some of the toppings that were available like chili and cheese. Probably. Will I try it? I'm not sure. The chicken tenders were very filling so I'm not sure I really need a side. They have a bar but there wasn't a bar menu available. I asked our waitress for a general drink.... I want sweet, maybe tropical, and a decent size. She brought me a white sangria that was very, very good! Our waitress, Brittany, was upbeat, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Others came and checked I is throughout our meal also. Top notch staff! The atmosphere was relaxed but the place could use a makeover. 🙂 No. Really. I think the floors are concrete- which isn't the issue. The paint on the floors has come up some. The booth we sat in was spacious but a little hard. There are some random types of tables. It's a little dark. If you're looking to take a date there, make sure it's a very casual date. Still.... overall, I rate this place as 4 stars because it wasn't perfect, but it was good. 100% we will go back again sometime. 0% chance of us ever ordering delivery through Door Dash from there again. Seriously. Go eat there. Don't...

So I noticed Dave removed my husband's review so here it is again.

We went over a year ago. Ordered lunch, loved it. Wanted to order dinner the same day. So we did.

We showed up about 20 min before close when our order was supposed to be ready. We didn't get the order until 10 after close. I called and Dave said "it was made to order" yet everything was cold. So we knew he was lying. Or just was ignorant to the situation.

We didnt eat it. We saved it for the next day so my husband could take it back. My husband went the next day and Dave told him on the store phone he would be there soon. After my husband waited for a while he called the store phone back and said he's not coming and it's still no refund.

Even the employee behind the counter had the look like it's happened before. We see it as theft but hey, it's Dave's business he's playing with.

We will keep putting up this review, now we know you've been taking it down. People need to know poor management when it's present.

I am usually a fan of Davos but yesterday I was very disappointed. I order a salad specialize, they first left off my chicken and bacon then when I took it back they remade my order. When I got my “fresh” made order, it didn’t have again what I asked for. The manager came out and tried to explain to me that she made sure it was right. My first order my chicken was visible and my remade order had small grill chicken pieces and fried chicken crumbs. So I told the manager I wanted my money back. She then went and got the owner who came out agitated cause I asked for a refund and told me I couldn’t have one cause he remade it twice and the second was right which it wasn’t. He forced the salad on me. I had to get ready for work and did not have time to go back n forth with him. This incident was very unprofessional and although I send a lot people to try their salads when I post on social media. I will not personally give them another dime of my money cause it could have been...
