I have doctor's appointments every once in a while in Hopkinsville. I asked my fiance which Chinese restaurant she wanted to eat at there. So she picked Hong Kong Garden because we had already went to the other place but decided to try a new place. Needless to say it was awful. We ate on the buffet and there were only 2 buffet stations of food. The soda that I had tasted as if it had sat out for 2 days and then they just iced it down as it was warm at first. The food was also less than to be desired. Some of it was hot and some of it wasn't. The mushrooms looked like they had sat and had dark spots on them. The double cooked pork was atrocious. The only thing that tasted ok was the wontons and spring rolls. I would say most of the food on the buffet had been reheated and reused at least once if not 2 or 3 times. Needless to say I had to stop and get a candy bar and soda just to get the nasty taste out of my mouth. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would because this didn't even deserve one. This place reminds me of a somewhere that Gordon Ramsay would go to in order to save the restaurant and have to spit out the food since it was so bad. It has a sign that said food wasted from buffet charge minimum of $50. Needless to say I would rather starve to death than ever set foot in this nasty place...
Read moreThe dining area is on the small side, and when it comes to the food, there isn't much variety. I enjoyed the egg rolls, cheese wontons, and the Mongolian chicken. However, other Asian buffets have more variety, and all of the food, not just some of it, tastes amazing. The staff was nice, and it wasn't too overpriced. Be sure not to get more food than you can eat because they will charge you an additional fifty dollars if you are "wasteful." I can understand there being a charge of some sort because that is food that they could've sold to someone else. But fifty dollars is excessive, especially when the quality of said food is subpar. Our table was sticky. The bathroom wasn't dirty, but one stall was really small. I'd avoid it if you're claustrophobic. Also, their hand soap...
Read moreHey, this is a Chinese Buffet hole-in-the-wall kinda place with a creepy fish tank at the entrance and weird Korean posters with a dim TV playing above the bar. Yeah, does not seem entirely clean, is dark, and smells kinda weird when you walk in.. that said, I love this place! The food totally meets my expectations. Fresh and hot and a good selection that seems to change a bit each time I come in. I make it an event, I have my soup, I like their egg drop with crispy noodles. Then I get the apps, egg rolls, crab rangoon with hot sweet sauce and the mystery meat on the stick is pretty good too. Then to the main course. I like to create my own combos and mix it all up. Then back for seconds, then some pudding or fruit for dessert. Overall, good stuff with a...
