THEY KEEP EDITING MY REVIEW
I would love to give this place a raving review after it was recommended to me by my FIL. I was seated at 1:40 and ordered the lunch special and a half dozen char grilled oysters. When I finally got the oysters about 20 mins later they were burnt to a crisp. I am disappointed that the server would serve them and even more disappointed that the chef would send them out like this. I kindly asked for them to be taken back and declined a new order that I would have to wait another 20 mins for. I finally got my lunch special at 2:40; 50 mins from the time I sat down! The popcorn shrimp wasn’t bad but a small portion, however the white beans and rice were delicious. The wait staff was noticeably gossiping about customers at the bar area and made a lot of unwanted eye contact with me while I was eating my food. which gave me the impression that I was being discussed most likely due to sending back my burnt food and then being grumpy I had to wait so long In total.
I probably won’t try it a second time, the staff seemed salty.

Well, folks, let me tell y’all about my visit to Boudreaux & Thibodaux where the only thing spicier than the gumbo was the attitude of the staff. If Boudreaux and Thibodaux had eaten here, even they would've been speechless—and that’s saying something.
The moment we walked in, the waitress greeted us with a scowl so fierce, I thought she was trying to season me instead of my food. Thibodaux once told Boudreaux, “If you ain't got nothin’ nice to say, don’t say nothin’ at all.” I wish our server had taken that advice—or better yet, stayed in the kitchen where the chef clearly wasn’t.
Speaking of the food, let’s talk about the jambalaya. Or should I say, jam-bye-laya—because after one bite, I was ready to leave. It was so undercooked, I swear the rice still had dreams of being in the bayou. The crawfish etouffée? More like “et-ouff” because that’s the sound I made choking it down. And don’t even get me started on the price. If I wanted to spend that much money for disappointment, I’d have bet it all on the Saints making the Super Bowl.
By the time the check arrived, I was so ready to go, I didn’t even argue about the "service charge" for the service that never happened. Boudreaux once asked Thibodaux, “How do you make a Cajun mad?” Thibodaux said, “Serve him bad food and charge him double.” Well, congrats, Boudreaux & Thibodaux's , you did both!
Would I come back? Only if they paid me—and even then, I’d have to...
Read moreI've always had a very good experience a Boudreaux and Thibodeaux restaurant except this visit. my boss and project managers came to town and invited me out to dinner with them. I recommended this restaurant based on my previous experiences. we started with 2 dozen charbroiled oysters which I would have to say were excellent. but before we could even finish the appetizer the waitress began bringing out our entrees (1st disappointment), so we rushed to finish up the oysters thinking she would removed the two large trays of empty oysters shells so we would have room for our prematurely delivered entrees (2nd disappointment) she did not. my boss ordered the Crawfish half n' half, he said was good, the other two entries one was A Lil' bit o' Cajun, which was described and OK, the third was Catfish Louisiana, described as disappointing due the lack of crawfish in the etouffee, and the last entrée was mine, the "Thibodeau’s Catch", it came out with two fried catfish fillets with tiny bits of crab meat sprinkled on top like you would see chives or parsley, no crab meat sautéed in garlic butter, nothing like the description in the menu "Fresh catfish breaded an’ panfried, topped wit’ crabmeat an’ sautéed in garlic butter wit’ a choice o’ two sides an’ garlic French bread 17.99" if I wouldn't have been out with my boss you can bet I would have raised a fuss about this...
