Southland Mall — Local services in Houma

Took my daughter to bed body works and I was so upset. My daughter was looking at a body spray and she set it down in front of her to get her calculator out to see if she would have enough to get it. Another lady that was by my daughter snatched it out of her hand as she was picking the bottle back up. My daughter walked next to me to tell what happened and this woman started cursing my daughter. I told her to not use that language towards my child. And that she was speaking to me not her. But she continued. The employee stood right there as this woman continued to use the f word at my daughter and said not a word. Once I turned to take both children out of there the employee looks at the other lady and asks what's wrong. I am so upset. I have never had an experience like that at this mall. I was told by manager that they are not allowed to step in whatsoever. So this lady can go around yelling and cussing at people and it's ok. I live out of town and drive there for that...

This mall has been around for a long time now and it has never reached the full potential it could have. The stores are all pretty dead. The mall isn't filled with much of anything. Its dead on a whole one side of the mall. And some of the places that use to make it worth going too ended up closing or relocating. Due to how high the rent is not to mention how it needs improvement on it's building layout and attractions. I use to love the coffee shop they had and lionshare and chick fil a. I don't come in here unless I need victoria secret bras, or Dillard's or some jeans from aero or american eagle . but then again its almost worth it just to make the drive to new orleans mall or baton rouge rather than this. I have been going to this mall for years. I first wanna thanks the owner(s) for bringing a place where families from out of town or locally can go shop, eat, pass time together after a long week of work or school. Southland Mall has plenty of parking with security doing 15min intervels pass by for customer safety. While the Mall is small compared to newer Malls it still has potential to grow added attraction for the coming years if the MAGA works with The Trump administration which i believe will help the economy to grow and give Americans some spending money and saving money. The food from the booths are pretty good and the atmosphere is family friendly. I would love in the future to see Southland Mall become a 3 story mall and host at least 30 more...
