bb.q Chicken Westheimer — Restaurant in Houston

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of this chain (we first discovered it in Austin and have since visited all 3 locations in Houston), but unfortunately this is probably our least favorite location. I have a rewards account and when I tried to provide my number they said “sorry, we can’t do that - you’ll have to follow the instructions on the receipt” which no other location has said. That’s like a minor thing though. Then when we got our chicken which was amazing/tasty as always they brought it out with two cups of ranch - the other 5+ times we’ve gone here they always bring out radish. I asked if they could please bring radish instead. Then as we were eating our meal my boyfriend ran out of water, so we both thought “ah no problem when they come with the radish I’ll ask for more water”. But nobody came out with radish despite my best efforts at doing that awkward eye contact thing one does in a restaurant. Ultimately I went up to the order counter and requested more water, and radish (this was at the very end of our meal). Guess what we still never ended up getting haha. Anyway the restaurant wasn’t even that busy, we were one of 4 small tables. My boyfriend and I loved the taste of our food and the quality but the service is just less than ideal & I think we’ll be taking this location out of our rotation. My boyfriend also wants me to add that they only had two flavors, which was kind of a bummer for him (I didn’t mind haha they were flavors I liked). Hopefully others have better experiences than we did!! The chicken is again, so so good and we love the ratio of chicken...

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a while. We finally had time out of our busy schedules to try it it. I probably should've just cooked at home. When we walked in there was a sign that said "wait to be seated for dine in". And we waited! BOTH servers had their head down and were on their phones! Im not sure if you know but cellphone is AGAINST HEALTH CODE. Do you know how many germs are on your phone? Its dirtier than a public toilet I can tell you that much. Anyways, the servers didnt even notice us until I went up to the counter and asked do I just seat myself? So I did. Why have a sign then? Make it make sense. Service was so bad. I was upset the entire time. Only thing that made me happy was BTS playing in the background. Which wasn't very often. Food was mediocre. My husband got the bulgoigi cupbob. The rice was cold! But the meat was hot. Which tells me they let the rice SIT while the beef was cooking. Not okay. And his food came before mine! So my husband was upset because he wasn't going to eat his food until I got mine. Which was 5 mins later. And by then it was room temperature. I had to call my server for another beer since I finished mine and was empty for over 5 mins. We were the ONLY table inside the restaurant. No one came to check on us. No one came to pre buss our table. Bad service. I'm not coming back and I'll definitely tell everyone else to avoid this place. I've been in the service industry for 20 years. I know foh and boh and today.. I was not impressed....

The owner/manager must not remember me. I have order from here maybe 4 times altogether. The food is ok and they always have a deal on Uber eats. But I guess those are the deals on mediocre food. I would have let this place make it. But I also Uber eats and I had to pick up a order from this place for a customer. Do you know the manager looked at me very rude and nasty and asked are you a driver I said yes. He said you need to confirm the meal. I did already with the cashier. The cashier is trying to plea for me saying that yes he did confirm it he is ok. He said it was 2 orders stole from them using Uber eats 😳 I am like ok!! I am black with dreads. He stereotyped me and looked at me like he despised me. If I knew the owner was like this I would have never ordered from this place. I told him the name on the order and said this order will not be stolen. Even tho I was upset I still kept my cool. He patted me on the back and said ok. Only to report me to uber eats and say it was fraud and I was stealing. He made me lose my job this guy is unfair and I had bills to pay and I'm sorry I ever spent a dollar in his store. I will never come back again this place stays empty the only orders come out of this place is Uber eats with half off discounts to only be disappointed when it gets to you. BBQ chicken on Westheimer 10 thumbs down. Ps: I received a $12 tip from the customer...
