My husband and I took the trip from Magnolia here on a whim. Let’s start with the parking. To be honest is HORRIBLE. The businesses in this strip center are SO good which is amazing butttttt it makes parking a pain. Luckily I drive a car so it’s smaller and I’m a good driver (by my standards lol) so I navigated well but to park I definitely had to drive/ reverse several times to fully get in the spot as there was a car behind me , beside me and in front of me so how do you “pull in”? You wiggle in lol. So be prepared for that.
Ok on to the food. The bakery has lots of seating however the area to order gets packed and congested (you read the parking so imagine the inside). They are quick taking orders and quick pushing out the food so the wait time was reasonable. We ordered a lot of different stuff since it’s far and we wanted to taste a lot to see what’s a hit vs miss. I got the zataar and cheese pizza and the spinach puff. My husband got the meat pie and kufta pie.
Zataar pie- omg hands down the best I’ve had. I mean I told my husband he couldn’t have any lol. I wasn’t sharing this! I regret not getting another for the road! So definitely get this!
Cheese pizza with mozzarella - I found this very cheesy which is an amazing thing! We shared this one but to be honest I didn’t want to lol.
Spinach puff- a big pastry and it’s very good. I was full so I only took a bite. My husband finished it. He thought it needed more lemon I thought not was fine.
Kufta pie- my husband said it was good but he wouldn’t get it again. He said it would be better in a sandwich than pie.
Meat pie- he liked this and was sad when we got home because it was all gone.
All in all I would recommend the veggie options 100%. The staff was very sweet and helpful. My husband was able to get some fresh bread to take home. Btw it’s the same bread we get from our local halal grocery store but this time we were able to get it from the source so it was super fresh! They ran out twice when we were there so they definitely make them on rotation. So don’t fret they will be FRESH!
We decided this will be a staple on our trips to the area. The bakery next door is just as amazing btw if you want...
Read moreI randomly found this place and have loved every visit here since. Living in the Middle East I love all the baked items and missed it when I came to the USA. Simple but very tasty would be the best way to describe what Cedar Bakery serves. This is a Lebanese bakery. The cheese pies and meat pies are my favorites in this place. To be more specific the Meat Bread and Haloum are my absolute favorites. I have tried the others but what stands out is the slight saltiness of the Haloumi cheese and when it is melted it is amazing. The meat pie is a simple ground meat with onions, tomatoes, and light seasoning. The Zatar is also good and is worth trying if you have never tasted Zatar before. You can also get meat and cheese on the same pie or half cheese and half Zatar. I have tried the Sojok and Kafta and are not my favorites. They have some smaller appetizers like the spinach pockets filled with potatoes and one with cheese. They do get super busy on the weekends because they do serve Shawarmas. I did try their shawarmas but did not find it so captivating that I would order it or long to order it on the weekends. It is reasonable but has very basic seating. We went there as a team from work for lunch and enjoyed it. But if it does not meet your preference it's much easier to get it to go. They also make Pita bread and I get the thinner Arabic bread which is good for wraps and for dipping with hummus etc. Go experience it. I love going there because it is Unique and...
Read moreI have been buying the pitas and pita bread loafs for approximately 10 years now. Never had an issue for a long time. Lately though (maybe over the last 2 months) their quality has taken a nosedive. Normally their stuff, the pita bread in particular is very fresh. I had placed an order over the phone for 15 packages of pita bread loafs. For 10 years now, we've always gotten ones that were made the same day. This time wad a disappointment as the ones we got feel like they had been on the shelf for at least a couple of days maybe even more. I have also noticed that there isn't some of the same employees there that I have seen for such a long time. Perhaps maybe the place has come under new management or ownership. Either way, I was very disappointed with today's visit. It may be time to find a new place which stinks because we had been loyal customers for so long even making a one hour drive each time we come out there as we live on the opposite side of Houston. Hopefully things will go back to what they used to be like...
