If you’re craving authentic Indian street-style food with bold, unforgettable flavors, Desi babai food truck is an absolute gem worth visiting. I recently tried their Pachi Mirchi Pulao, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The dish struck a perfect balance spicy enough to excite your palate, yet well-rounded with the aroma of fresh herbs and traditional spices. The green chili flavor was intense but not overpowering, and the pulao was cooked to perfection each grain of rice flavorful and fluffy.
Apart from the pulao, their Indian tiffin items deserve a special mention. Whether it was the crispy dosas, soft idlis, or perfectly spiced chutney, every item reflected a homemade touch that’s often missing in commercial kitchens. The chutneys were vibrant and fresh, adding the right punch to every bite. You could tell that a lot of care went into both the preparation and presentation.
What makes the experience even more enjoyable is the ambience around the food truck. Set in a lively open space with cozy string lights and rustic benches, it has a welcoming, laid-back vibe. The seating area is clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged for small groups and families alike. It’s a great spot to relax, eat, listen to music and even strike up a conversation with fellow food lovers.

Read moreWe checked out this Indian food truck last night. The food was okay overall, but the only thing we really enjoyed was the punugulu—crispy and tasty, definitely the best item we tried.
The rest of the food was a bit too spicy for our taste, and the overall experience wasn’t great. We got there around 8:40 PM, and by that time, most of the popular items like idlis and dosas were already sold out. Only a few items like fried rice were available, and even those were taking a long time to prepare.
The biggest issue was the service. It took us about 20 minutes just to place the order, and then another 30 minutes to get all the food. We were standing around for a long time with kids, which made it harder. It felt a bit disorganized, and not the most pleasant experience.
If you’re planning to go, I’d suggest going early and being prepared to wait. Not sure it’s worth the hassle if you’ve got little...
