If you’re craving authentic Indian street-style food with bold, unforgettable flavors, Desi babai food truck is an absolute gem worth visiting. I recently tried their Pachi Mirchi Pulao, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The dish struck a perfect balance spicy enough to excite your palate, yet well-rounded with the aroma of fresh herbs and traditional spices. The green chili flavor was intense but not overpowering, and the pulao was cooked to perfection each grain of rice flavorful and fluffy. Apart from the pulao, their Indian tiffin items deserve a special mention. Whether it was the crispy dosas, soft idlis, or perfectly spiced chutney, every item reflected a homemade touch that’s often missing in commercial kitchens. The chutneys were vibrant and fresh, adding the right punch to every bite. You could tell that a lot of care went into both the preparation and presentation. What makes the experience even more enjoyable is the ambience around the food truck. Set in a lively open space with cozy string lights and rustic benches, it has a welcoming, laid-back vibe. The seating area is clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged for small groups and families alike. It’s a great spot to relax, eat, listen to music and even strike up a conversation with fellow food lovers. In a city brimming with dining options, this food truck stands out for its authenticity, flavor, and heart. Whether you’re missing home-style Indian food or simply looking for something new and delicious, don’t miss this place.

Very disappointing experience – not worth the wait. I stopped at this place while traveling from San Antonio to Houston, hoping for a decent meal, but it turned out to be a complete waste of time. I waited for 50 minutes just to get my order – Punugulu and Veg Manchurian Rice – and even after that long wait, the food was extremely disappointing they gave me the wrong order. The Punugulu was hard and over-battered, with no real flavor. The Manchurian rice lacked salt and overall taste. Nothing about the meal was enjoyable or worth the wait. I ended up spending almost 2 hours here just trying to get some food – definitely not worth it. Wouldn’t recommend stopping here.

Lovely ambience the food truckers managed by four students and I love the fact that they have a play area so the kids are entertained from time to time. They also play movies on the big projector screen. If the weather is good, I’m sure you’ll have a great time here in addition to those we tried the punugulu (sooper duper hit) for you fried Maggie And a chicken dish and paneer dosa, and all of those turned out to be spectacular.

If you’re looking for a delightful fusion of Indo-Chinese and traditional desi flavors, Desi Babai Food Truck is the place to be! Their menu boasts an impressive variety of dishes, from classics like Bagara Rice with Chicken Curry and Chilli Chicken to comfort foods like Fried Maggi and a range of dosas.

The Chilli Manchurian is a standout—perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. For breakfast lovers, the Chee Karam Idly and Majjiga Bonda are must-tries! They also offer a great selection of snacks and chats, like Pani Puri and Chitti Punugulu, which are perfect for a quick bite.

Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous, making it ideal for a casual meal with friends or family. The service is friendly, and the food is freshly prepared, ensuring a delightful experience every time. The food truck’s lively and inviting atmosphere is an added bonus. Whether you’re craving spicy, savory, or something indulgent, Desi Babai Food Truck delivers it all. Highly recommended to anyone...

We checked out this Indian food truck last night. The food was okay overall, but the only thing we really enjoyed was the punugulu—crispy and tasty, definitely the best item we tried.

The rest of the food was a bit too spicy for our taste, and the overall experience wasn’t great. We got there around 8:40 PM, and by that time, most of the popular items like idlis and dosas were already sold out. Only a few items like fried rice were available, and even those were taking a long time to prepare.

The biggest issue was the service. It took us about 20 minutes just to place the order, and then another 30 minutes to get all the food. We were standing around for a long time with kids, which made it harder. It felt a bit disorganized, and not the most pleasant experience.

If you’re planning to go, I’d suggest going early and being prepared to wait. Not sure it’s worth the hassle if you’ve got little...
