Donut Haven — Restaurant in Houston

After coming here for decades i think i just had my last taco here. I recommend you move on as well. 2 stars only for nostalgic purposes. Should be 1 star because google has a misleading price point for this eatery.The prices here have doubled(maybe more) in a very short amount of time. A "large" taco is the size of a normal breakfast burrito from jack in the box-which is half the price. The basic ingredients for breakfast tacos have not increased in price much at all. I work in the meat industry so i know this first hand. Real increases will be seen this coming year and it scares me how much a breakfast taco will cost here then. Its 7.25 before tax for a sausage egg bacon cheese taco! These are the same ingredients they've always used-not anything new or premium. The portions of meats are very small. There wasnt even sausage and bacon in every bite even after the 1.00 up charge for a 4th ingredient. The taco was mostly egg and cheese( a cheap cheese you can taste and feel the cellulose used in it). Sorry donut haven, i grew up with you but its over now. They served me burnt kolaches. I tried calling them 3 times, but no one answered the phone. I returned with the receipt days later and explained that I tried calling several times. I presented my phone to show how often I tried calling to discuss the bad food I received. Before showing her my phone, I explained that I called. The lady explained that they always answer their phone, and then I showed her my phone therefore she could see how many times I tried calling. She looked at the phone but refused to replace the three kolaches, which were about $1.50 each. I told the lady I had visited that store for over twenty years. She said I should have brought the food back(days late??). Yet, I had the receipt. Moreover, they knew that they served burnt food when they gave it to me in the bag. I have never asked for a replacement before. However, the lady refused to replace the food. When I asked for the manager, she replied" I am the manager". I later told her I would not return, and she said that was fine. So they will not see my money again. I have also asked my daughters not to patronize the store. Very...

We have come here for a long time, however today we ordered a dozen Kolaches and they tasted off. Even my kids noticed and told me they took a bite and threw the rest away. I called and spoke to a nice gentleman who said he’d replace the dozen for us. (Mind you I only have 7 left since some were bitten or thrown away) I bring the remaining left, they are replaced. As I’m sitting in my vehicle a woman comes out from the store to my truck to warn me that she won’t replace them again because we “ate” them. We absolutely did not, and I wouldn’t go through the hassle for a mere $40. I told her she could have refunded the money and I’d bring the ones in the trash. Very unprofessional! Why would I go through the trouble to get 5 free kolaches? I’m sorry that’s not worth it to me to make the trips and calls. Me or my family will not be supporting this business any further.
