Cajun Craven Called about live crabs. They said they have it. Asked about size and was told #1 mixed with other sizes. Bought 10lbs of live crabs. Gentleman that sold me the crabs came out with crabs in a bucket. Sizes were accurate to what was communicated over the phone. Gentleman said they were alive but not moving because they had been in the cooler and not that active. Took his word for it. Came home and began the rinsing process before boiling the crab. All but 4 crabs were dead. I was expecting them to come alive after rising them with water but majority were goners. I messaged on FB as soon as I found out. Owner reach out later on stating that the staff made sure every single one were alive when picked. That’s a fat lie because when I was checking them, many were not moving and the worker said they are not moving because they were in the cooler. So if they were not moving then how does he know it’s a live. It could be not moving because they were dead. Needless to say nothing was done by the owner. I’m Vietnamese and buy blue crabs often. Owner claims that I may have caused them to die but I went directly home to wash them. A 30 min ride is not going to kill crabs and cause them to smell so horrible. I want to eat live crabs. Why would I make this up for? You guys got to do a better job at this Cajun Craven. When a customer feels cheated and taken advantage of, it’s not a good look for you. First time giving this place a try for live crabs since it’s closer but was disappointed. Threw the dead ones away that smelled like they had died for quite some time in fear of getting food poisoning. Only the 4 live ones were cooked. $50 Cash :•( BEWARE OF THIS PLACE OWNER WILL SIDE WITH EMPLOYEES EVEN IF THEY LIE

Not Impressed...Always wanted to try this place as I always heard good things. Maybe this was an off night, or wrong time. We usually go to La Crawfish but like to try new spots often...We ordered the chum bucket, wasn't worth the price we paid in my opinion. Shrimp hard to peel, in fact I only was successful in 2 or 3 the rest looked like they come from grinder once peeled. They was tough like maybe overcooked, or older and reheated. (Yes I told Server, she acted as if it was normal and said "Oh I'm SORRY" nothing more said or asked) Crawfish pretty small compared the the rave and adds/reviews I'm always seeing.Crab was pretty good, just not the blue crab(Only ate half of one, other wasted) had to ask for scissors to open only after another server saw me struggling to crack the claw with another claw... The potatoes seemed like they may have been boiled in plain water then added later. Also mushy so way over cooked. Corn was ok but definitely cooked separately...Flavor is so very close to La Crawfish spicey garlic butter. Overall wife and I felt we got more for our money and fresher from La Crawfish. As for environment/decor and parking.... Parking I can imagine would be a headache on "busy days" and in my opinion poses a hazard with blind spots. Inside seemed small but well played out with outside seating. In our (wife and I) opinion not our first 5 choices for Crawfish or crab. I didnt take massive amounts of pictures for obvious reason (messy hands)

Heard a lot of good things about this place so I thought we'd give it a try. Ordered 4 lbs of crawfish, a catfish filet which came with a side, bread, and hush puppies for a good price. My friend LOVES LOVES LOVES SPICY crawfish/crabs! He ordered snowcrabs CAJUN EXTRA SPICY, they came out and had absolutely NO flavor what so ever. We let (A) server know and she rolled her eyes and said she'd let someone know, our actual server came to our table and we explained the problem, she was super sweet since the moment we sat down. My friend just didnt want them anymore. She went ahead and had another guy come talk to us from the kitchen, now when I tell you this guy has no experience in customer service, he has NO experience in customer service! Was rude the moment he came to our table, I heard him yell "No refunds, so y'all pay for it" He told us that there was NO refunds on Boiled seafood, which is kind of crazy to me, if someone doesn't like anything I feel fix the problem, rather than say "no refunds, y'all pay for it and if y'all dont the server has to" which is totally not right either! NEVER in my life had I heard, if someone returned something the server had to pay for it, I've worked in the industry for a pretty long time. He also stated that the flavor we got on the crabs had basically no flavor, we told him we got CAJUN EXTRA SPICY, so there should be flavor, then he said that it should of had flavor if we ordered that. Then told us we should have gotten another flavor if we wanted flavor and at this point he didnt even make sense in what he was saying at all. Never once tried to replace it, with something other than crab or anything. Just insisted there was no refund, which trust me we weren't looking for a free meal, we just wanted to let them know, maybe for future reference. My friend never ever returns anything either. Before he left the table again he just said there was no refund and walked off. We weren't even done eating and he spoiled our appetite. We will NEVER be going back to this place again. They need to have someone professionally train their staff and learn how to speak to people. They dont take criticism very well there. Over heard another guy saying something about the crawfish and they tried to convince him that that's...

Bring back Elijah, Trent, and Sam PLEASE.!!!!!!

I have been going to Cajun Craven for YEARS. I mean YEARS. I WAS a loyal customer.

Saturday (11/6/21), was the straw that broke the camel's back.

They opened at 12:00. We arrived at 11:56 a.m.

We walked in and began to sit at our normal table. The server (young lady with braces) begins to tell us that they are not open and we can not come in yet. She literally had a conniption.

I asked, "Why is your sign on stating you are open?" I also asked, "Why is your door unlocked?"

She made a big deal about us coming in when they are not open. She also made a big deal about us sitting at the table, without her seating us.

A. No one was there. We were the FIRST customers. B. We always sit at the SAME table EVERY SATURDAY.

I asked for the manager, and she came out. I explained to her what the issue was. Truthfully, she was not helpful. She listened, she apologized, but that was it.

As I was trying to explain, the server, tried to interrupt me multiple times. She seriously needs some training on how to treat customers.

Here is some advice.....If you do not want customers to come in, then, DO NOT have on your OPEN SIGN AND LOCK THE DOORS!!

It is really that simple.

I also do not understand how your repeat Saturday customers (who spend over $200 each Saturday visit) seating themselves is NOW an ISSUE???

Honestly, the ONLY REASON WHY I STILL PATRONIZE THIS PLACE IS BECAUSE OF THE CRAVEN SAUCE.

The restaurant could seriously use improvements. The wood is rotting near the windows. Oh, and the bathrooms! The bathrooms are HORRIBLE. They always smell of sewage and they do not do a good job in maintaining the cleanliness.

It's basically a "hole in the wall."

The Craven Sauce is the ONLY thing that saves this place from...

I'm only giving 2 stars because the food WAS good. The rest of my experience, not even close! I ordered online where it states they have curbside. My order included crawfish, which they state must be ordered in a 2lb minimum. I selected quantity 1 - assuming this was 2 lbs as that's the required minimum. Order placed at 8:39p, website stated it'd be ready in 30 minutes. Arrived a few minutes after 9. Didnt see any spots for curbside so I called to get direction. I was informed U STILL HAVE TO COME INSIDE. Ummm, HOW IS THAT CURBSIDE?? This was 1 of the reasons we chose this place, our first time. Ok - fine. My bf goes in, he's in for awhile. Eventually comes out with no bags in his hands. I could see from outside the place was jam packed, so we're being patient. He waits for awhile goes back in, I'm waiting still. Then he calls me and says our order only had 1lb of crawfish. Yes, this would be our mistake, but it was NOT CLEAR and again, if i have to order a minimum, WHY WOULD U LET ME ORDER LESS THAN THAT?? I guess this "reset" our order so, we continued to wait. What time did we FINALLY GET OUR FOOD? 9:56p! If i hadn't of already paid, i would have driven off! I knew i would have had to go in for my refund and i wasn't dressed for that, again, we believed this would be a curbside pickup and I'm pregnant. I was not prepared to deal with such Tom Foolery. Ridiculous. They don't have to worry about me ever spending another dime there. Ever. And that's disappointing, as i stated, the food WAS good. Do better Craven! Or, at the very least, set realistic expectations for people so we can choose if we want to be bothered. THUMBS DOWN. my bf did ask for the mgr btw, who sounded way less than apologetic or sympathetic...
