It's pretty neat when you walk into a place and you can tell by looking around - the people feel at home. The Eatin Place came recommended for us out-of-towner's. I had the Hamburger Steak with mushrooms, onions and brown gravy, my associate had the chicken strip special and we shared a fried pickle appetizer. The pickles were fantastic! The breading was light and crisp, well seasoned and cooked thoroughly. The chicken strips were (from what I was told) pretty good as well. The hamburger steak was not bad, the brown gravy was delicious and the onions were sauteed well. The mushrooms seemed a little rushed - not sure if they get steamed or just warmed, but they were not "fresh picked". My dish came with a dinner roll, corn and a selected side of Cole slaw. The dinner roll was soft and warm, which is a win in any carb lover's book! I would have liked the corn better if they'd had some more of the crisp texture that fresh sweet corn has when it's been harvested in the prime. This corn, reminded me of the cafeteria corn from grade school - slightly soft, and lacking the sweet. The Cole slaw was disappointing, it was a little dry, like the juices were settled at the bottom of the container, and the slaw had a pretty strong aftertaste. The service was good - our waitress seemed to know multiple patrons personally which made for a neat home-town, tight-knit community feeling. I would be tempted to try other items off the menu if I have a chance to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSaddest place I've ever been to!! Waiter talked so low half of our group couldn't hear her. Almost zero AC / air flow. If you have a large party (7) people it's a bit cramped. Used to be decent when they had a buffet. It's been awhile since we had all been there like 2014-2015. It had Went massively down hill! We spent almost $50 for 2 burgers and a chicken wrap 2 teas and a coffee... Oh and the fries that normally come "WITH" a burger literally everywhere else... Does NOT come with!! That's an extra $2.99 for a small handful of fries! I almost walked out when the girl said "oh it doesn't come with fries that's extra." So paid almost $10 for a mushroom and Swiss burger (Not the greatest I'd pass on it) an another $10 for a western style burger with bacon (that my husband couldn't eat, he took two bites, took off the soggy bacon and just left the plain tasting burger. We took it home to feed our dog at least someone enjoyed it) I shared my fries with my kid since I didn't realize his also wouldn't come with fries š an one thing that really gets me is in the almost hour and something we all sat there we were lucky to get maybe one refill for half the table. Never again!!! I wish we would have went anywhere else consider taco bell or McDonald's first! Heck deli picnic style it at the park after going through Walmart. I wish...

Finally I started to ask and 1 of them just said āsit anywhere ā Never smiled or greeted . No other customer at that time. I felt like we interrupted them. We sat and ordered drinks and waited 10 mins to take our order. Fried pickles Shrimp plate Patty melt with curly fries Food is standard frozen from their purveyors and fried Patty melt was overcooked and dry .Onions were raw , not grilled . Bread was way to big for that size Patty . No condiments offered and waitress didnāt come back by until after we were almost done. We paid $37 which seems a lil high . But itās ok Locals may like this place.
