Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of the reviews here that this place is not that great. I came to the spot, hoping to find Pappadeaux, which apparently lost their contract. I wasn’t greeted by a hostess when I first walked up and plenty of servers walked by without saying hello or asking if I want to sit. I only decided to seat myself after a customer leaving told me that I should just grab a menu and seat myself. The drinks were good and I do recommend the espresso martini. I came here, hoping for seafood, since that is what I was craving and they were both out of the muscles and the shrimp pasta. I finally settled on flautas which traditionally come with rice, beans, shredded lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo (or some combination of this). They were apparently out of rice and served me fries instead without asking. Shortly into my meal, I overheard the couple at the table next to me talking about seeing a bug (the kind that starts with a C or R depending on how you spell it if you know what I mean) which I have an extreme phobia of. So I rushed through my meal to hurry up and get out of there before having that added to the experience. I do have to say that the servers were very pleasant and helpful, though they were pretty busy so they couldn’t be as attentive as they would most likely be. By the end I spent about $55 on a not great meal and two drinks. It’s a Tuesday night, so not even really that busy of a night for it to be out of so many things.

Wife and I stopped at Gastrohub before my connecting flight and spent over $50 on a meal, expecting a relaxed sports bar experience. The food was decent for an airport spot, but my experience with the staff left a lot to be desired. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could stick around to watch the basketball playoff game about to start in 15 minutes on one of their many TVs. Despite our plates still being on the table, the busboy/waiter told me I would have to be an active customer to stay—meaning I’d need to order something else after paying my tab, or I’d have to leave. The response was not only unaccommodating but also delivered with zero courtesy, this was despite the manager being notified of the polite request. For a place that advertises itself as a sports bar and charges premium prices, we expected much better hospitality and flexibility, especially when the restaurant wasn’t full. If you’re hoping for a welcoming spot to catch a game during your layover, you might want to look elsewhere. Highly disappointing service overshadowed an otherwise okay meal. The disappointing service couldn't have been more jarring had we not literally just flew in from an all-inclusive 7-day stay at a Cancun resort where the food, service and atmosphere was beyond top-notch each and every day and on every interaction with the dozens of hospitality staff at the resort and other places visited on excursions outside of the resort.

I understand why this place has so many negative reviews. I walked up to the hostess stand. The person there was bent over leaning on the rail, I could barely see her and noticed she was on her phone. I waited a moment and then she finally recognized that there was a person standing there. I asked if I could sit at the bar and she said yes and just pointed me that way. The bar wasn’t busy and a lot of chairs were available. Both bartenders saw me sit and no one said hello. No one provided a menu. I waited a few minutes. A customer walks up to the bar on the other side sits down and the male bartender asked her immediately if she wanted a drink. The other bartender went out to clean tables. She came up to the bar and noticed I still didn’t have a menu and provided one. Then another couple sat next to the lady that got helped and the male bartender immediately ask them what they wanted. I looked at the other bartender as she was back, she made eye contact with me and then immediately came over and helped me. I think she saw the frustration on my face. I ordered a $24 basic margarita. Outrageously expensive. I thought after a few minutes someone I would come over and say hey can I get you any food. No one ever did. After I was finished with my margarita, I went to cash out with the bartender that helped me. I told her at that point that I was going to order food but no one ever came to help me. She said oh I came by and asked everybody if they wanted anything, but she did not ask me. When I got up to leave, the bar was a little bit more full. There were two people waiting to sit at the bar so I gave them my chair and the one next to me was empty. They weren’t even in their chairs and the bartender asked if they wanted drinks. Extremely...

I travel to Hobby at least once a month and the only restaurant worth eating at generally -this evening however was shocking to me - I waited 20 minutes to place my order and each time I attempted to make eye contact with the waitress she ignored me - the airport runways closed due to an issue and there was a rush for people to eat and drink while waiting for flights - I shared my table with two different women also traveling - when the bill came it was over 100 dollars and I never saw a receipt - which I need in order to expense - when I went to the waitress she ran my card again and I added the tip and when I did finally receive the receipt she had placed additional items on my tab and when I asked to see the manager so it could be adjusted she took the receipt disappeared for a few moments and then came back and handed me a 20 dollar will saying that the manager said to give me cash or she would have to void the receipt and start again - and never gave me my receipt back - I was so shocked by this behavior I walked out dumbstruck and then went to get a cup of tea across the way and one of the servers from Gastrohub was working the register and when I explained what happened she gave me my tea gratis - I have called the corporation 2x now asking to speak to the manager so that I can at least get a copy of the receipt or I am out the $132 for mine and another person's meals... such a sorry state of affairs to be honest - the wedge salad with Shrimp although small...
