***AVOID*** Had a short layover at Houston Hobby Termimal 1 airport. Went to the "ol' burger backup-Pappas Burgers." Another company took over. HUBCAP BAR and GRILL 7800 Airport Blvd, Houston, TX 77061 Maybe Hubcap Bar and Grill will catch the next flight out of Houston! Ricky Craig, owner of Hubcap Grill, confirmed to the Houston Chronicle that his burger restaurant is moving into Hobby Airport. The LaTrelle's Management Corporation will be operating the popup, which will take over the now-former Pappas Burger location in Terminal A. Looks like the word on the street is that ol' RICK CRAIG might want to investigate why so many patrons are not fond of the buns that disintegrate while eating a sandwich 🤔 Another tid bit...the meat was cold, and the order was not in for very long... The server was on point. Oh, where have you gone, Pappas 🍔Burger? As a Google reviewer and a veteran, I do not recommend the HUBCAP BAR and GRILL. Try Buffalo Wild Wings 👍 Same terminal 7800 Airport Blvd C-104, Houston, TX 77061

We stopped at Hubcap Grill in the Houston Hobby airport during a recent layover while traveling home. It is about par for what you'd expect from an airport hamburger/beer bar. It took awhile to be seated because the hostesses up front could not handle the amount of diners showing up. Plenty of open seating in the restaurant, the hostesses were simply moving slowly. The service was decent. Angela was our waitress, and she did a good job. The food was decent enough as well. The grilled chicken salad was fresh and ample for a meal. The chicken wings were a bit undercooked and fatty for us, but the buffalo sauce was good. All in all, a decent meal in a crowded airport. We try to avoid airport food, but this was an extended delay day at the airport. Hubcap Grill is decent food if you need to each at Hobby Airport.

We had a layover and was hungry and decided to try this place as it was close to our gate. I got the Philly cheesesteak burger and the service was really fast. The burger tasted ok. The bread felt dry. The burger could have used some type of sauce because it only had the meats and cheese, and then combining that with the dry bread, it wasn't that great. I've had better and this place was pretty expensive for what it was, even for airport food.

We had multiple hours to spare at the airport and were looking for a sit down place where the prices were not insane but expected. We were sat right away but noticed that the server had been what we call “Quadrouple sat”. She was very busy but she still did a great job at managing the work load and luckily we were in no hurry. We ordered a local wheat beer which was delicious! We got the spicy chicken sandwich and the black and blue burger. The server warned us that the kitchen was running behind so we knew it would be a little bit longer for our food but it was not too bad. The portion size of the sandwiches are not large. But they are just enough to perfectly fill you up. The fry portions however where huge. We ordered dipping sauces with our burger/chicken/fries but it did not come until a little bit later but we understood since someone else brought our food and our server was busy. At least we did get it though. The bill all in (food+tip) came out to $60 for 2 people. The theming of the hubcaps on the wall was interesting and they had some tv’s playing sports too. There is a bar you can sit at as well. Overall our meal did exactly...

I stopped waiting for my next flight... I ordered at the "to go" and then realized I had more time than I thought. So I asked if I could change the order to eat in, and they answered No! I also noticed that is was the restaurant was 3/4 empty, so I found a seat away from everyone facing the airport walkway, making sure I would not interfere with their eating customers. Eventually, the person who took my order asked me to leave.. I said I just ordered food from you and even left you a tip, and you're going to ask me to leave? Yes. So I said have your manager tell me. He showed up a few minutes later, demanding I leave. I replied I can't believe you're asking me to leave after ordering food from you restaurant. I guest they don't understand what customer service is! Anywhere else and, I mean, anywhere!, would have accommodated such a simple request. So I asked for a refund. Once they got more emlpeys, they figured out how to do a refund. If the owners care, I hope they read and train their server about customer service. Here's a tip read "Setting the Table"...
