Is there a sign outside indicating that this is a restaurant, no. Is there a menu on the wall, no. Is there anything near the ordering area to tell you what you're ordering or how much it costs, no. Is the line of people ordering wrapped around the restaurant, YES! This is that amazing hole in the wall taco place everyone knows about but can't tell you where it is, but have to show you. Everything on the inside is neat and clean. You see the employees bringing out bags of fresh, sealed, ingredients to constantly restock the food. The only real downside is that unless you know what's ready or what's being cooked, you could miss out. I was about to order when one of my friends told me to wait until the carne guisada was done cooking. When I asked how he knew, he pointed to a pot in the back of the kitchen and said, that's it, they haven't brought it out yet. The carne guisada was amazing, but, I would have missed it all together has it not been for him. This is the only reason I would give it 4 stars. Unless you're in the know, you don't know what you're missing cuz there's no menu for newcomers people like me!

This is tough to write. It's a neighborhood favorite. Today we stopped for lunch. We ordered 3 tacos each with a drink. Five Fajita tacos and a pork (wanted to try something different) As I was eating my pork taco by friend said his fajitas were chewy and contained gristle. I tried my mind and opened the tortilla to find most of the "fajita" had large pieces of fat and gristle. I eat tacos, lots of them. This is not beef fajitas aka beef skirt. It looks like an inexpensive cut of beef. There is more to write about service or lack of and the total experience but like I said at the beginning it was tough to write. I am not here to bash a small business but rather to let them know when they sacrifice quality to save a few cents it is quite noticeable.

Food: A Service: A Ambiance: A Cleanliness: A I went on a Sunday morning. This was my first time to visit. You can tell they made the corn tortillas there. And they have taqueria prices so you can fill yourself for under $10! What I LOVED was that the corn tortillas were the same size as the flour ones so I didn't feel gipped with my tacos. What I REGRET was not ordering the beans smeared on my taco. After tasting the taco I felt that missing. But lesson learned. I'll do it next time. HINT: Pay attention to the serving station with all the food at the front door. They don't have a menu and that's all they serve.

A proud tiny Houston establishment. The decor is Houston sports teams. The tables are simple and two waitresses hustle between them taking orders and serving. No menu with a mini buffet setting as you enter. (Spoke with the owner and said that his entrée foods change every week). This is a restaurant where you can get tacos with what they offer on the now. I asked what the had and she started rattling off, "fajitas, eggs with bacon, carnitas..." I stopped her there. I ordered 2 tacos of carnitas with everything on corn tortillas but they are made fresh and had run out by noon on a Sat. (to be expected as the place was packed). I settled for flour tortillas and my waitress said that the tacos were big. She wasn't lying. I ordered a large "Agua de Jamaica". Best carnitas I've found so far. Total price $10 and I was stuffed and satisfied. Will definitely bring my gf back here. Super economical for...

I first found this place in 2007 when I saw the line of cops & contractors out the door. Expect a daily line (even if you take a late lunch!), but it moves really quickly. This is, hands down, my favorite breakfast taco / taqueria in Houston, absolutely worth 10-15 minute detour off your normal work commute (and around the potholes). This isn't the bacon-egg-and-cheese breakfast taco place; rather, you go up to the counter, and look cafeteria-style at the fantastic South Texas options in front of you, and make your choice. Don't bother asking for cheese because it interrupts the line, and you won't need it, anyway. One trip and you're a convert. Oh, and get the red and the green salsa. And order the "piña" (perfectly diluted pineapple...
