( Atmosphere )
Pretty simple looking restaurant in an old, almost dead Plaza. The place doesn't have any bad smells so you'll have a fine dining after you sit down and order. This place is fairly quiet, even during the Lunch or Dinner hours the noise level is still moderate, pretty neat. ( Food Quality )
Green Beans ($6.95): Has lunch special offer of only $5.18, smaller portion but just as good. The green beans here are good, like almost as good as you'd want them to be, soft flavor with a hint of crunch in every bite. Not to mention, the portion they give is just gigantic, so much that you'll have enough fiber and nutrients to last a week! I'd recommend getting this dish here.
Eggplant w/ Ground Pork ($6.95): Has lunch special offer of only $5.18 as well! Pretty good eggplants, nothing too special about the flavor, but they do give a nice portion. Also, the eggplants were cooked nicely with a tender chewiness and the interior was soft enough to become your pillow! Big slices too! ( Price / Service )
The prices here are extremely cheap, especially when compare it to the vast quantity of food they give for some of their dishes. Also, if you come during lunch time, you can order all the yummy dishes you like for only $5.18! Yes, $5.18!! So do come for some cheap lunch if you're feeling hungry. Lastly, the service here seems very kind and were definitely prepared to give you an excellent dining experience for cheap food! Recommendations: Green Beans ($5.18), lunch special price for some delicious green beans and a portion big enough to fill your stomach!

Read moreLe Lai is a fantastic restaurant for classic Cantonese cuisine. I highly recommend the Stir fried Lotus Root cut into strips with baby squid, Chinese sausage, and Chinese Bacon. We also loved the Salted Egg Yolk Tofu, and the Sautéed Lobster with Ginger and Scallions. Our last dish was Beef Ribs with Eggplant & Onions which was a bit oily. The waitstaff was very diligent about filling our water glasses and clearing our lobster shells and rib bones throughout our meal. The dining room was clean and bright. Le Lai is located in a somewhat deserted shopping center on Bellaire so there is plenty of...
Read moreReturned to Le Lai after a long absence. Quality of food still amazing. Mainly, proper Cantonese style cuisine. Service is generally fast and reliable. On the off chance, you walk in and you feel that you just walked into a reserved part of six tables.. if you decide to remain patient then you’re in for a wonderful treat of a good dinner that will satisfy your tum tums.
Orders came out takeover fast considering they had a huge part of guests where dishes on each table were pleasing and aromatic just tantalizing your own tastebuds.
