Lovie's Frosty Twist — Restaurant in Houston

Loved the placement in town and the service. However, I personally didn't enjoy the ice cream. This is, however, a wonderful ice cream place for families and children, especially with the large selection. I had gotten the expresso ice cream (no toppings), which barely seemed like an expresso, and the flavor for me was quite lacking for me. From what it seems, it's all vanilla with syrups. Which just isn't for me. But perfect for families or parents of picky children, or anyone that doesn't like strong flavors.

I will still visit this place again in the future and try a few other things as other things may be more flavorful, just not the expresso. But, I am one who enjoys a flavorful or rich expresso.

This is a nice little soft ice cream stand and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Besides the standard vanilla / chocolate / swirl you get at most soft serve stands, they have the ability to add a large variety of flavors. Most are really good although a couple that I have had (like the amaretto) are pretty subtle. They also have Dole Whip and the usual variety of sundaes, shakes, etc. We have probably been here about a dozen times now and I've tried a good number of the flavors. When visiting this area most likely your gonna end up at Sarris Ice Cream but if you don’t want to fight the crowds, traffic and finding a parking spot then you should check out Lovie’s. Locally owned ice cream stand. Walk window with friendly employees. There are a couple of picnic tables to sit at or just eat in your car. I got a Hot Fudge Sundae and it was really good.
