MARISCOS EL FABULOSO — Restaurant in Houston

First time coming here. The service was great, the food was terrible.. no seasoning in most of my meal, the kid’s meals all come out of frozen box foods, my husband’s meat skirt was beyond bland, the fries were COLD…. Just terrible for the food. The environment was really hot, like the AC in the building was not working, the music was what really annoyed me. The music was upbeat but it was EXTREMELY loud, I’m positively sure that the music was above sound level to the point that it damaged a person’s ears. More annoying, I had to literally scream for anyone to hear me.. that includes my kids, my husband, and even the waitress. I did ask if they could turn it down.. and I seen the nice waitress go around the corner but nothing happened. Anyway, first time there and the last. Between the beyond loud music and the terrible food, I won’t be returning.. to be honest, I don’t even know how the reviews are mostly 5 stars. For the condition of the food, I just can’t understand why the bill was so high! Oh and I didn’t even mention, the total was $122.. then they charged me an extra $2 for something on the receipt called “NDA” which for small owned businesses means the credit card charges from the vendor… as in, you are passing on your fees to the customers who pay by card. Good idea for YOU, but you should let the customer know what they’re getting into before just deciding to put it on...

I had ordered 2 aguachiles verde and a caldo de marisco. Well my aguachiles was raw that grayish see through stuff I made a complaint and took it back, tell me why the owner started to yell and say she wanted the other half of what we ate. She claimed there was 18 shrimps, but in reality it was 12 I only ate 1 and my co-worker ate two of hers, my son had the caldo was slimy and so was the octopus. Refused to either gives food that was cooked and prepared right or our money back. She refused to do either and told us if we don’t know how to eat seafood we shouldn’t. Continued to yell wouldn’t let me talk. Never again. I never acted like I didn't know Spanish matter act you were the rude one that did not let anyone speak. You were talking over myself and my coworker, the soup was not half eaten or too spicy I said it was SLIMY!!! the octopus was SLIMY, NOT HALF EATEN YOU DID NOT LET MY COWORKER TAKE A PICTURE OF IT instead you threw it away. You stated it was 18 shrimp, when your other coworker came out and said only 12 are in the aguachiles orders, only one was missing from the 1st and 2 from the second one. So, you lying and stating that miss information on your reply speaks volume on your behalf. Please make sure you dad and your waitress are on the same page because you all of you had something different...

Disappointed with the food, it looks delicious but no flavor and salty. I ordered a 7 mares soup no flavor or anything and swapped it for a fried mojarra. Also, I ordered fried shrimp, and it was ok. It felt like I was eating plastic. Just in general, food was not good or flavor, and to drive 40 minutes, it was not worth it. When it was time to pay, they charged me for the soup price instead of the mojarra price, I asked the waitress and laugh, and she said it's the first thing you ordered. So if I had ordered something more expensive I am sure they would have charged me the expensive one. That reply she gave me it was dumb. Also, when I paid with my card, I had another charge, and I asked she said it's because I paid with credit card. I was like, you should have said something before I sat and ordered or paid. According to her, it said on the door which it didn't I'll post a pic, and if ya can tell me where it said they charge more, I'll take down this.

Over all experience bad and definitely not recommended...
