Pappa's Son Donuts — Restaurant in Houston

Okay heres my two cents about this place. I had accidentally stumbled across this gem. I thought this was Maria Tacos and More. 08-05-2018, I walked in at around 545 this morning. This was my first time here. Lets just say, the food selection and taste is WAYYYYY BETTER than Shipleys. The donuts and the donut holes are to die for. They were fresh and well glazed. This is comfort food. Everything was fresh. She even gave me a couple donuts to try. I ate everythanng before i could pull out the parking lot. Lets just say, I was back in 30 minutes and ordered more donut holes and more kolaches. The ratio of bread to sausage and cheese was perfect. It was not a lotta bread with a cocktail sausage. The yeast itself was moist and wonderful. That time, she gave me a selection of each donut on display to try. Both the woman and the man were soo soo so friendly. And they open at 430am. EVERYTHING IS CHEAP AND REASONABLE YET WARM AND MOUTHWATERING DELICIOUS. 👌👌👌😁😏😊😀😀

The donuts, kolaches and breakfast sandwiches are delicious, good portions and their staff is extremely friendly - I always recommend to new neighbors!!

The breakfast sandwiches are on light croissants and have bacon, egg, cheese falling out of them and I always end up saving half for later because they're so big and filling. I bring my kids here a lot because they have a nice seating area outside and more often than not, the staff will give my kids some free donut holes which I think always makes them feel special. The boudin kolaches are also unique and delicious to this place. My husband LOVES the giant apple fritters and my kids live the donuts with sprinkles.

I will continue to choose to come here 10 times out of 10 over the Shipley off Ella that has extremely rude staff and...

I must say these are the best donuts I've had in a LONG time. I bought one of nearly every kind. They were soft and fresh. Each had a unique flavor (unlike Shitleys where everything tastes alike! ).

The blueberry cake donut also had blueberry flavor in the icing - loved that! The maple tasted like maple, and so on. Other donut shops could learn from this place.

They were all moist but not greasy (unlike Krispy Scream which are saturated with grease!)

My only suggestion to improve would be more cinnamon in the twists and more apple in the fritters. They were both good, but personally...
