A real gem in the community. High quality pastries, good coffee, great staff.
Ordered a few pastries and two drinks. I received the food and one of the drinks quickly. There was some miscommunication on the second drink but it seemed as if they were training new staff at the time. The new staff was preparing the second latte and was a little confused. One of the more experienced staff there took the time to correct her, she did not steam the milk properly, ordered her to start over, and guided the new employee calmly. This is all while many more people were coming in and the orders were backing up. I really enjoyed watching this moment. One gentleman gave me a bag of biscotti for the wait, which was really not that long considering the circumstances.
All In all they bring a wonderful cafe/ bakery to the community and really know how to treat customers. They make you feel valued. The atmosphere is not bad by any means, comfortable, casual, clean. The inside space is limited and there is seating outside but it is Houston,...

Having recently move to this area and wanting to support the local business I was driven to this bakery by the amount of amazing reviews.
I have been to Europe many times and replicating a croissant or pain au chocolat is a challenge to any baker yet Artisana has mastered the skill and it presents you with the perfect layers inside the croissants as well as flavors. I felt I was back in Europe.
I also bought a loaf of the brioche bread. While it didn’t look like the picture from their website it definitely tasted like it. I used it for French toast and it was a hit with my family.
I look forward to tasting more of their products as everything I bought was...
Read moreMy wife and I have been driving all about Houston looking for great bread since relocating from New Jersey. We found Artisana and met the proprietor, Rosemarie.
After selecting some loaves to our liking we took them home, keeping one out and freezing several others. Subsequently we conducted a side by side taste test with some other breads, including Slow Dough Bread, Whole Foods Artisan, Randalls, Common Bond, and a few others. Hands down, Artisana was the best in taste, smell, color, texture, crust and crumb.
It was definitely worth the trip for us to locate the bakery. Try it and you will taste the difference.
I understand Artisana also has a presence at the Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Check out the website...
