Parrilla Colombiana — Restaurant in Houston

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I have gone to this restaurant at least one or two times before and it has never taken this long to get my food. It took them 1 HOUR to get our food out. Once they started to hear that we where going leave they started cooking our food. If you have been here before you know that even during regular lunch time there are maybe at the most 3 or 4 tables being occupied. I had also placed a to go plate (That came out at the same time our food was coming out) and that food was obesely rushed and was not cooked all the way. My mother is also handicapper and sometimes requires to park close to the doors in designated handicapper parking. As we sat down we asked if by any chance they knew who's vehicle was parked there and the waitress smirked and told us that she would call the towing company. She obviously knew that the vehicle belonged to either the owner or manager to that location. To top it off the "Owner or Manager" was having lunch with someone sitting right behind us and finally came over and told us that the food was taking long because they don't have anything prepped and they cook to order. Even after waiting all that time we still paid our bill but had to take our food to go as our lunch break was over, we didn't even eat our lunch since by the time we received it our apatite had already been lost. The "Owner or Manager" did not even hint a discount their mistake. None the less we will definitely not...

My son was craving Empanadas last weekend and found us this wonderful place, waitstaff and food were both great, my family is very picky and I am happy they both loved the food, I enjoyed my Bandeja paisa and the empanadas, we loved it so much that we chose to eat here again this Thanksgiving weekend as our last meal until 12/30, we are all going on a diet till my daughters wedding so I can fit into my suit. I want to thank all of you for the great food and service and can’t wait to come back and see you all again!

Side note, my wife was not happy that I have left the tip in the jar at the counter both times, because the waitress doesn’t know you tipped them for good service, but I told her that when the restaurant has the tip jar at the counter they prefer that you put the tip in the jar rather than leaving it on the table. I ordered the bandeja paisa, the portions are very small compared to other Colombian restaurants in the Houston area but the price is also the highest. Meat was overcooked and served cold. Beans were more Mexican style than Colombian style and very watered. Egg overdone Plantains cold and very greasy. The fry arepa just warm and greasy. The lulo juice was more water and sugar than fruit. The chicharron (fried pork belly) was very salty. Rice was the only thing cooked properly.
