R&B Soul Food & Cajun Kitchen — Restaurant in Houston

I went about a month ago because my boyfriend, Chad Clemons wanted food from there. He has always spoken highly of the food. I was very pleased the 1st time I went so was looking forward to the visit. I didn't stand looking at the board nowhere near 15 minutes. Maybe 5 because I was making sure I ordered what my boyfriend wanted. I did question the price of the wings because on the pics there were different prices. We understand that prices change so all the lady had to professionally say was that the price changed. So I then asked how much the spaghetti was because you have 3 different sizes. I was told...I would have to look it up and see. She then proceeds to just stand there and not give me the prices. She acted like she didn't want to serve me. Not one time did I give her attitude. That's something I don't do when it comes to food. So it needs to be said....professionalism goes a long way. The quality of the food can be excellent but if the staff is ugly, acting like they don't want to serve the customers, that's a problem. We're spending our money so as a customer we have a right to know how much stuff cost ...especially when we're looking at pics with different...

Me n my husband were in the mood for some Soul food and decided to come here since we live so far away from our usual spot in the South side...anyways ... We came in and read the menu and began to order. My hubby ordering his first then me but the lady who was helping us seemed like she had a slight attitude?!?! Idk why? So as we're waiting for our plates, i ask my hubby if i was tripping or did she have a slight attitude? He agreed but we just left it alone. (I don't get into it with ppl who r preparing my food)We paid about $75 for 2 ox tail plates and a side of chitterlings and 2 drinks. Its not the price i was upset or concerned about but when I sat down and opened my plate i was very disappointed. The thing I disliked the most was my rice being drenched in the oil the ox tails were cooked in. Now gravy is sum different but this was grease. The black eyed peas and the actual ox tails didn't have much flavor. The Mac n chz didn't seem fresh and there was hardly any chz in it. The only thing I liked was the broccoli/Rice casserole and the corn bread. I hate to say it but i don't think we'll be coming back. I expected a little more for...

I went on a Wednesday. Online the business operation hours are supposed to open up at 12:00. They didn't open the gate until 12:20 and this was an inconvenience because they're nowhere to park. Either you have to drive around or park across the street at the church but for the neighborhood around the restaurant i could understand why there is a gate. Even so of the late opening time all the food wasn't available to purchase. I ordered the turkey wings over rice with mac n cheese greens beans and cabbage. The sides needed to be seasoned more but the wings were great. Mac n cheese had no flavor at all. Kool aid was on point not too sweet. My wife had the oxtails plate with the same side plus corn bread muffin. She has no complaints overall. Sweet potatoes weren't available at the time I believe they were still in the oven. Maybe the restaurant has short staff. Anyway the customer service was great and friendly. The inside was enough room to bring multiple families to come eat. I will try again at a later time. Plus I will come late around 1 or 2pm hopefully all their menu items...
