2 Stars instead of one because the place was clean and the 2 other employees were very attentive and friendly. As upset as I was about the service I received that day, I probably would have left 1 star. Feb. 17th, 6pm-ish. Cold front in Houston, was about 40 degrees out, pretty cold for us here. I was getting drinks for my friends and I because we were visiting our recently passed friends' grave. So hot drinks were to warm us up and little comfort food/drink. 6 drinks. Another employee came over to offer help making my order and the girl attending me kind of rudely told her she didn't need any help because it wasn't that big of an order. So I get my first drink (hot latte), and since I was cold from walking from the parking lot, I automatically grabbed the drink off of the counter to warm my hands with it. Felt it only midly warm. I go to Starbucks all the time, always get a hot latte, so I have a good idea of what I'm used to receiving. I commented about it, nicely, to the girl making my drinks that it seemed only warm to me because I usually warm my hands up with my cup. She was super dismissive and said, "I mean, it's hot, but I can re-heat it if you want". Thought maybe my hands were just really cold and I couldn't feel the heat very well, plus the temp was dropping and friends were waiting for me so I was short on time, told her it was ok. All of the drinks were warm at best when I got them off of the counter, I tasted mine as soon as it came out. Were not warm at all when i got them to my friends 10 mins away. I was really upset. It would have at least warmed us up a bit if the drinks were hot like they normally are. The "barista" could have at least touched the cup to check the temp or reheated it anyway or something when I commented about it to her. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it was a special day for me and my friends so it did upset me and I just didn't expect that from a Starbucks. Given their notorious and squeaky reputation. I'm just going to avoid this new location, even though I was excited about it cause we've "needed" one in the area...
Read moreSo I was "traveling" 'round about town. It was a 2 day max moving venture that lasted wks & kinda still on going... (don't watch horror flicks 'cause Steven King ain't got cr×× on my life. Anyway, anyone from or lik&e ving in Houston & has negotiated the 2+hr, city limit to city limitg, real life trauma, understands "travalin' 'round 'bout town" thing. I had been w/o coffee, (Blonde by Roast), the only consideration these days... Wholly addicted... could Not seem to get a delivery to abstract address so I pressed myself to make it to this Location in my U-Haul. Here it is late, just a cple seeming college students in store; quiet clean, quit atmosphere. I come in looking like something off Mad Max, filthy, exhausted, who knows ... AND requesting a Ventie Blonde Roast. The young lady wasn't certain about a "pour over" but with a reassuring presence said something along the lines of; if it can happen, It Will! WOW !!! Even if I did not get said blonde roast pour over, her response would have left me with a pure sense of satisfaction and enough encouragement to press on ! That's when the Serene almost unnoticeable up to that point young man affirmed her choice & said Yes😀 we can do this. The young man had quite a presence about him once he chose to be recognized. Looking back, I believe he was allowing the young lady to exercise her abilities. (Good mangmnt skills). Hats off to both of them & for their hospitality. Also coodos to the group at the table. Not a sneer, side eye or down nose amount them. Cleaned up in the rest room a bit and was able to continued my journey thanks to an Excellent cup of Blonde Roast.
Thanks y'all for serving your local veteran on that day...
Read moreI don’t understand all the hate reviews on this Starbucks. They work right next to a university which keeps them busy. They are always working hard every time I’m in there or the drive thru. If you download the mobile app and order your drink from home, by the time you get there it’s prepared. Just park and go in grab and go. The employees are pleasant and I’m sure have to deal with all sorts of customers who may not be so pleasant. They may not have time for small talk because they’re trying to rush and complete other orders while taking orders which some people don’t understand! Employees are awesome!! I would only say there are a few older men customers that do go in there OFTEN. Every time I go in there for school work one of them is there. They do try to approach young college students, especially young women. I’ve felt uncomfortable doing homework there because they approach me and ask me random questions about myself which I try to brush off. Today one of them told me quietly “how about this, you let me treat you tomorrow” so that only I was listening, immediately no. I got up and left, feels like they’re preying on young college students. Another one a few months ago (they both know each other) walked up to me while I was trying to do my homework.. and felt comfortable enough to touch my thigh above my knee while asking me random questions. Again, weird older men in there. Feels like they disguise themselves as nice professors talking to college students, but preying on young college women. The Starbucks and employees are...
