Cream Burger: A Decent Burger Joint in the UofH Area
Located in the heart of the University of Houston area, Cream Burger is a local favorite that offers a satisfying burger experience without breaking the bank. This modest eatery has carved out a niche for itself among students and locals alike, thanks to its straightforward menu, decent pricing, and enjoyable outdoor seating.
Tasty Burgers and Chilli Cheese Fries
Cream Burger's menu might not be extensive, but what it lacks in variety, it makes up for in flavor. The burgers are the main attraction, with juicy patties, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, all sandwiched between soft buns. The simplicity of the burgers is their strength, offering a no-frills but delicious meal that hits the spot every time.
The chilli cheese fries at Cream Burger are another highlight. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, smothered in a hearty chili and melted cheese. It's a comforting and indulgent side dish that pairs perfectly with their burgers.

Read moreBest burger stand in not only the area but the city, in my opinion. Burgers are delicious, it's like a homemade wataburger style burger. Their meat is thin so I get the double, with fresh produce. Most ingenious part is that if you get a double they put the cheese on the bun side and the produce in between the two patties. It makes all the difference!!! Whatever they cook their burgers in, is amazing, but the burgers are never to greasy, Everything I've tried from there is delicious, Chili burger and chilli dog is great. Good, real ice cream shakes. Love their FLOATS because they use soft serve ice cream for it. AMAZING!!!. Always try and go there when I'm in there area. They are quite low priced also but certainly not "cheap". High quality ingredients, you can definitely tell. I get two huge burgers, two large fries, a shake, a root beer float, and a soft drink for under $20. Wouldn't go anywhere else for a burger if I could.
Note for those who saw reviews about their service. They are very nice people, usually when I go theres an older black lady at the window that is good at her job and very nice when you yourself have your stuff together. Couple of things you should know, they only accept cash, no bills larger then 20. No cell phones while ordering, and know what you want before you order. Meaning you can't be rude first! Its an ordering window, not a make your decision window. She has stuff to do, and you can either decide on your order in line or off to the side. And the cell phone thing, I shouldn't have to explain why that's rude, however if you tell her "I'm sorry, I'm reading my friends order from a text", she will understand, I've done it before in a timely fashion shes cool with it. DO NOT be talking on the phone with someone trying to get their order and telling the what they have and how much it is while ordering! That is RUDE! Have that convo off to the side then order. All in all they are very nice if you are nice also, like most Texans.
GO GET A BURGER FROM...
Read moreI had been wanting to try this place for a long time especially after seeing it on a t.v. show about places to visit in Texas. Maybe my expectations were too high and I had it built up of how good it was going to be, I let myself down, not the restaurant itself. I ordered the double burger and fries. The prices were very reasonable. I did have to wait because there was a small line in the middle of the afternoon but the wait wasn't unreasonable and I didn't mind. I got my order in a reasonable amount of time, I don't mind waiting for a fresh cooked burger. I got home and and it looked exactly what I had been waiting for, an old fashion homemade burger like when I was a kid. The fries had a good flavor and they appeared to be fresh cut not frozen, but they were limp and not crispy, just like when I make them fresh at home. I was hoping they knew some magic trick to make them crispy. So, if I visit again I will just make my own fries at home and buy a whole bag of potatoes for $2 instead of just getting a small portion, probably 1 potato they used to make my fries. Now to the burger, the main attraction. After a couple of bites my dreams and expectations were destroyed. It had a nice amount of tomatoes and some pickles, the lettuce was almost non existent. The worst part was, the patties were charred and dry. As a whole, it was just ok, nothing special. It wasn't horrible but it was nothing to call all my friends and say, you gotta go try this place! Maybe I shouldn't make a final decision until I try it again? Everyone has bad days. I gave it 3 stars because it is just pretty average. In my opinion, if you are looking for a big fat juicy burger, this is not the place. If your looking for a affordable homemade burger on a budget this is a good option. You could also buy a pound of ground beef and make your own for just a dollar or two more and season it how you like it. If I go back here and it blows me away, I will update...
