I haven't heard of sweetgreen before, but I found out it is a national fast food chain and was established in 2007 by a group of friends after graduating from Georgetown. Their concept was to support local farmers and to make healthy eating fun and delicious. Their idea succeeded and sweetgreen expanded across the East Coast, Chicago, California, and now, Texas. The Montrose sweetgreen location opened up on September 10th, 2019.

I went to sweetgreen on a weekday during lunch with my colleagues. They have a private parking lot, and luckily, it was quite empty when we arrived. When we walked in, we saw that the kitchen was open so you could easily see what their entire staff was up to. I ordered the Harvest Bowl for $10.25 (705 calories). This came with roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, local goat cheese, pecans, organic wild rice, shredded kale, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I substituted the goat cheese for avocado instead because I absolutely hate goat cheese.

The food came out quickly to our tables after ordering and paying (counter service). I thought the Harvest Bowl was really flavorful and I enjoyed all of the textures. I am typically not a fan of salad or places that only serve salad. For example, I got sick of eating at Salata because I look at eating salad as a punishment. However, sweetgreen was very tasty and unlike most salads. I will confidently say I could see myself looking at sweetgreen as a viable option as least once a week. I am always looking for healthy food options in the area at affordable prices, and I am happy sweetgreen is now in the Houston area. Welcome to the...

I’m honestly pretty upset with the quality of service I received at the Sweetgreen on Westheimer. I’ve had several unpleasant experiences at this location—but only when one particular employee is working. His customer service skills are abysmal, and he always seems like he has an attitude about simply doing his job.

After work on March 28th around 7:45 PM, I decided to stop by for my usual order. I noticed that same employee was on the line, but I tried to stay positive. I greeted him and went about building my bowl, starting with the base. When we got to the protein, I asked for the caramelized garlic steak. Without hesitation, he told me they were out. Thing is—I could clearly see steak right there on the line.

I asked about it, thinking maybe I’d misunderstood. He then told me that steak was only for online orders. Now, I’ve been to this location enough to know that’s never been a thing. If this had been within the last 15–30 minutes of closing, I might’ve understood—but they still had two hours left in the evening. I was confused and frustrated, and decided not to move forward with my order.

As I was walking away, he tossed out a snarky remark along the lines of, “You shouldn’t worry about the steak—just pick something else.” At that point, I was done.

This really didn’t sit well with me, and I felt compelled to speak up. Not having a product because you ran out is one thing. But having it, and refusing to serve it to in-person customers? That’s unacceptable. I genuinely hope management sees this and takes a deeper look into what seems like a made...

We have been going to Sweetgreen since they opened on Montrose. Food is good and Service has been good until today.

Seems like they have inexperienced and rude employees. First, My husband ordered a salmon bowl and they didnt ask him if he wanted bread or drink. Next, I told my order to the employee. She Said that they dont have sweet potatoes for another 2-3 min. I Said fine and ı asked if I can change with something else. 10 secınds later, She Said that the potatoes are ready but they dont have salmon. We paid the Bill and started waiting as she Said it would be 6 minutes for salmon. After waiting for about 12-14 min outside in the patio, ı went back inside the Store to Check and they were Just putting the salmon in the oven. I asked How long that will take, the gentlemen Who I assume was in charge Said that it would be another 1 minute and his exact words: ‘ we dont want to give you raw’ with an attitude.

Again ı started waiting by the register and he asked me to leave and Said he can call me when its ready. I told him I would wait if its only a minute knowing What he Said wasnt true since they had just put the salmon in the oven in front of my eyes. He told me that he doesnt want me to wait on his neck very rudely. Then I decided to send my husband back in and cancel my order.

While all of This was happening? The salad bowl was sitting on the counter, cold and all employees are talking over it which ı am not sure if its acceptable according to city health...

Sweet Green has won my heart with its exceptional offerings. If they ever decided to pay me as an ambassador, I'd gladly shout their praises from the rooftops, instead of simply by sharing the app with friends. Honestly, I can't find a single fault with this remarkable company. They truly stand out by using top-notch ingredients sourced from local farms, maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability, and providing an extensive range of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and proteins. The menu options are so diverse that you'll never tire of exploring new flavors; unless you do 😅 While I must admit that all Sweetgreen locations maintain these high standards, I did encounter a minor hiccup at this particular spot. It seemed that they were a bit stingy with the serving size while charging the usual price. Normally, my salad container is bursting with a delightful abundance of greens and proteins, leaving me completely satisfied. However, this time, I found myself searching for that extra oomph. It's a shame when the taste is spot on, but the portion size leaves you wanting more. Despite this slight setback, I still hold Sweetgreen in high regard. Their commitment to quality and sustainability remains unmatched. I'll continue to indulge in their flavorful creations, I'll just avoid this one, 😑

This was my first time here. I loved the look of the restaurant and all the ingredients looked great. I did the build your own salad option which starts at just under $9, so awesome. When saying which ingredients I wanted a few times I was told “that’s an additional cost, is that ok?” And I said sure because I didn’t think it would add up that much, but it ended up being $21 lol. I mean, it was a great salad but dang that’s a lot. I would recommend just getting a salad that’s already on the menu for a set price. I would definitely go back again, but order that way instead.

I purchase 2 teas and a crispy rice treat, and I asked if I can park at the location for an hour to walk to a store next door. The manager comes to talk to me and he ask my wife and I if where on something. That was a really rude question and I found it disrespectful when all I asked was if I can park for no more than an hour. The signs outside clearly state customer parking I made a purchase and honestly the teas and treat were not that good. But the manager was rude and the teas taste awful and crispy treat was ok.
