When you’re in the mood for Mexican food in the Houston area, you don’t need to look very far. Mexican restaurants and TexMex eateries are everywhere and a very good option I recently discovered is Teotihuacan Mexican Restaurant.
Walking into this restaurant, you get a friendly vibe immediately. It’s a medium size restaurant with tables/chairs and booths. There is no one waiting at the door to seat you, at least not when I visited for lunch. You seat yourself and then wait for a member of the staff to come to your table and take your order. The interior isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either. It can accommodate a large number of customers. There is a section in the back that is more private and can be used for more private affairs.
The menu at Teotihuacan Mexican Restaurant features appetizers, soups and salads, seafood, and of course, traditional Mexican fare. I was surprised at the number of seafood options. They have a kids menu, too, and lunch specials. If you cannot decide what you want, you can select a build your own option and create a meal that best suits your tastes.
I selected a traditional Mexican meal when I was last here, with a side of refried beans and rice. My meal was served in reasonable time and the quality was certainly good. The staff takes good care of you, too. They check back at the table and made sure my glass of iced tea was refilled as necessary.
Teotihuacan Mexican Restaurant has a few locations around the Houston area. This location, on Bellfort Avenue, is the only one I have visited. I like what I experienced and I recommend that others give this Mexican restaurant a try. It has the necessary ingredients to fulfill your Mexican food needs and keep you coming...
Read moreI’m so confused by the outstanding reviews of this restaurant. My husband and I ate here today and ordered the Silvia plate and the tortilla soup. They tortilla soup has mushrooms in it, which I have never seen before from a restaurant, and it flavors the entire soup broth like mushroom. Not the type of tortilla soup I expected, wanted, and like. The cheese enchilada on the Silvia plate has way too much cheese in it, some of it wasn’t melted, and when you take a bite it was like you took a bite out of a cheese block. I had to spit it out. The sauce for the enchiladas is good. The shredded chicken crispy taco that comes with this plate is good, but needs more flavor. Same with the beef fajita taco. The charro beans are probably the worst I’ve had. The rice is good. Chips and salsa are good. Overall review: MEH. I love Mexican food and can tell you there are MUCH better Mexican restaurants.
Side note that does not affect my review of the place - the lady that “cleans” the restroom coats the restroom in air freshener. I’m talking spraying constantly for minutes at a time. The floor was slippery from the spray, and I reek of air...
Read moreThis was the most disgusting restaurant I have been in since I came to Houston. I was very hungry wanted Chinese should have went there instead. But since I was getting my nails done next door I chose to eat there. I ordered a steak dinner I clearly told the rude waitress I wanted my steak medium, I even specified that it should be pink, she said ok . I wanted delivery but they didn't have, I said okay. So I went next door to start my nails the worker from nail place was polite enough to get my food, when I received it the steak was raw. I took it back told the lady she said I thought you said medium rare could not be especially when I told her pink not red but no problem people make mistakes even when you are clear with what you want. So I asked her since I had to get back up and get my food at her negligence could she bring it next door and she rudely responded no.S o needless to say I would never eat there again. She seemed prejudiced I should have went to the Asians they are outstanding in customer service. I am glad I don't have to base my visit to Houston on...
