I’m a local who’s loved this fro-yo spot forever, hitting it up with my family like it’s a ritual. The yogurt’s fantastic, but the service? A total letdown. Rudeness is standard, especially after 9:00 PM (they close at 9:30). Snarky looks and bad attitudes make you feel unwelcome, taking up toppings and closing down machines, clapping and loudly making passive aggressive comments to her employees, and it’s happened too many times. Usually from the same employee.
Last night was the final straw. My brother broke his collarbone, and after a long ER visit, he just wanted fro-yo. We arrived before 9:30, but the doors were locked five minutes early (we expected the attitude but this was a new level). I knocked, pointed out their posted hours, and Yamen (or so she said her name was), the consistently rude employee, snapped, “We’re closed!” I said this keeps happening and I’d leave a bad review. Her reply? “I don’t care! Are you that greedy for frozen yogurt? I’ll tell my manager!” With other customers witnessing. Greedy? For expecting a business to stay open as advertised? Other customers pulled up, which I shared the disappoint news with. I worked service jobs in high school and college—I get it, late nights are tough. But locking up early and treating loyal customers disrespectfully? That’s unacceptable. Yamen’s attitude is dragging this place down. Bring back the neighborhood sweet spot, or this place lost our...

Initial order was for a Chemex coffee and large frozen yogurt. Uber Eats partner called me from the store to inform me that the frozen yogurt machine is not currently on and asked if I wanted a replacement. Annoying issue but it actually turned out to be the silver lining to this. Opted for the Japanese style iced coffee instead.
Order arrived and everything was fine. Chemex coffee was still pretty hot, nothing was spilled excessively, handoff was easy.
Tried a sip of the ice coffee first and it was so good. Bright acidity, still a good roast flavor, light body as expected. Got me excited for the Chemex.
Unfortunately the Chemex coffee wasn't great. Tastes like an okay cup of drip coffee using a regular breakfast blend type med dark roast bean. From the iced coffee I expected it to be bright, floral, citrusy, with good acidity but nope it was none of that and slightly charcoal-ish to boot.
The ultimate downfall here, I think, is the fact that a Chemex is offered but choice of coffee bean isn't. People who would pay double for Chemex drip often do so for the ability to choose which single origin bean to use.
Anyways 5 stars if I just had the iced coffee. -1 for dashing my group dreams and -1 for mediocre albeit expensive...
Read moreI'm glad I found this place. It's a great place to study. Located in a spacious plaza. Free wifi! Plenty of parking. The inside of Tree House was a lot smaller than I expected. Two booths and 2-3 small tables inside. There are also couches and some additional tables outside. A very cozy and chill atmosphere.
Their menu has a variety of coffees, drinks, and also yogurt! They also have pastries such as croissants and muffins. I tried their ca phe sua da (Vietnamese coffee). I was surprised to see it on the menu since the establishment seemed like an American based. The taste was just right and it really woke me up for my study session. Their Japanese style coffee was a bit bitter to me. Not my preference for coffee.
Yogurt: If you want to sample then the employee has to do it for you. Otherwise, you can grab the two different size bowl by the wall. Some of my favorite flavors are the taro, simply tart, salted caramel, and strawberry tart. There are a variety of toppings from fruits, cheesecake, nuts, chocolate, to popping bobas.
Overall, friendly service. A lot of people come here for the yogurt. The noise level here is medium. People come to hang out or would leave after their purchase. So, I had no problem...
