This Kroger is my neighborhood store, and tonight I went in to ask if they had any extra boxes. I was told to check in the produce department. On my way there, I saw a woman wearing a red shirt and black pants with a name tag. I asked if she worked in produce — she shook her head no, but pointed straight ahead in the direction she was walking.
She walked through the double plastic “Employees Only” doors, and I stood nearby hoping someone would come out so I could ask about boxes. After waiting about five minutes and seeing no one, I walked to the door to get someone’s attention. I saw a man moving boxes on a trolley, so I waved to him. He got the attention of the same woman I had spoken to earlier.
She came to the door and, with a very nasty tone, asked, “What do you want?” I was shocked by her attitude. I started to explain that I was told to check back here for boxes, but before I could finish, she cut me off and said “NO!” and tried to shut the plastic doors in my face. If they had been real doors, I believe she would’ve slammed them.
I was stunned by how rude she was. I waited a bit longer, hoping to ask what time would be better to come back, but she ignored me. It wasn’t until the man told her I was still there that she came back toward the door and told me, “You can leave now.”
I opened the door and asked, “How much does Kroger pay you to be this mean to customers?” She didn’t respond. I then asked another employee for her name. He told me her name is Ann and that she is the manager — something I could hardly believe given how unprofessional and rude she was. The employee even agreed with me, saying, “Yes, she’s mean.”
I went to the front and mentioned the situation to two other employees — both gave the same reaction and weren’t surprised by her behavior. It’s extremely disappointing. Managers are supposed to set the example, not bring the team down.
At my workplace, we have zero tolerance for customer mistreatment. I’m tired of receiving such poor service that it makes me want to avoid shopping in person altogether. This store clearly has ongoing issues, and the management is part of the problem.
Kroger, you need to do better. If your store managers don’t want to be there or treat customers with respect, they shouldn’t be...
Read moreI've never had a worse experience in my life.
I just walked to kroger to get some basic groceries.
I take my backpack like normal. I grab a12 pack of kroger brand cola.
I check out and put it in my back pack and begin to walk home.
Not 2 steps out the door I feel a massive wetness from the bottom of my back pack.
Who ever stocked the cola broke it and didn't remove the faulty product.
I literally had to stop on my way home and dump my backpack out of cola. Thanks to krogers ineptness. My one of a kind military tac bag us now RUINED. Kroger now owes me dry cleaning fees to clean my 300$ backpack.
This doesn't include my ruined clothes covered in coke due to kroger!
Thanks kroger I love being covered in coke due to employee ineptitude.
I have never wanted to cancel my membership ship more and take my business elsewhere.
Kroger needs to raise its standards otherwise heb is just down the street!
Edit* may 24th
Went in today to get some lunch.
I go to get a pack of alani energy drinks on my way out. I go to pick up the box. literally the first box on display. All of the cans fall out of the back of the box which was completely ripped open!!!
The worker who stocked saw this, placed it on the shelf on purpose so that a customer wouldn't notice.
Insanity.
If it wasn't for the fact that I live nearly right next to the kroger I would never shop there again. From now on anytime I need groceries I'll take my business down the street.

Read moreManager Elfie is a horrible representation of the management Kroger allows to be in leadership. I placed a curbside order on instacart with Kroger and arrived to the store prior to closure . I was left outside waiting for 20+ minutes and upon going inside to see what was the holdup I was asked to return back to tomorrow because the dept was closed for the day . I have children to feed and instead of receiving help from management the blame was placed upon me . Elfie ended up bringing out only some of my order after asking twice and when I went to find her to let her know I was missing items, I walked up on her and another Kroger employee at tobacco counter next to self checkout talking about what had just occurred. Elfie than proceeded to bring me into the curbside department to prove on the screen that I was never checked in even though I had the proof pulled up on instacart on my phone and had shown her . Elfie told me to grab my own items out of the curbside freezer as if I am a Kroger employee . I went to guest services after getting my items to get the phone number to corporate and as I was walking outside to my car with my full order after 40 minutes , there was Elfie again . Smoking a cigarette with the same employee talking about the situation again. The lack of professionalism I experienced at this location was very disappointing and instead of getting the help I was seeking from management I received the...
