This was my first time going here. My husband and I stopped here after traveling all day for supper. We sat down at the bar which was quite nice. Only complaint I had was the lighting in there was really low. I also didn't like how they just take your credit card if you're drinking and go out to patio. She showed me a sign that read must leave cc if going out to patio or pay as you go. No problem doing that but have sign where guests see the sign so they can make a choice to pay or leave cc. Marsha was really nice and welcoming. Lynn however, from the restaurant part was extremely rude, needs to learn customer service skills, and generally should probably not work with the public. The food was good except for my husband's. That's how Lynn came into picture. Rather than satisfying guest she argued with us and was very rude and worse made us pay a meal that we didn't eat. I was so horrified by her behavior I took complaint to manager Jamie who was very nice and settled complaint. I gave two star based on our experience with Lynn. Had we not dealt with this lady I would have given a 5...
Read moreThe place is fine, the food is fine. The problem is the movies. How about some sports, or some music?Come on.. most people don't walk into a bar hoping to see the lights all dimmed and every TV showing some inane testosterone-fest. Even if it was Reservoir Dogs showing, for instance... my complaint would stand. Clearly there is INTENT behind this policy, because it takes an effort to keep it implemented. So, let us plumb the depths of this intent, shall we..? Given that this pub is located in "Truck World," and is therefore visited primarily by truckers... would it be safe to say that this policy is catered to their assumed needs? Truckers from all over, of course, who can't be expected to agree on sports teams or music.. ah, what to do? Oh, I know! We'll make sure to always have some Vin Diesel / Sly Stallone action-adventure on. Lots of car chases and explosions. Surely all the dumb truckers can bond over THIS, no? The logic couldn't be that patronizingly...
Read moreGood food, great service, cold beer! This place was a great spot to relax after a long week. Sit back take a load off, enjoy a cold beer and a good burger. So the good ends here, it's an independent business inside a truck stop, meaning the truck stop manages the restrooms, they're not great. Notice I never said great food, it's not. It better than your average roadside Joe's burger joint, and far beats out fast food, but there are much more enjoyable options out there. Final thoughts, completely worth the stop and I hope to get to do it again. And for all you truck drivers out there, the whole truck stop is amazing and has plenty of parking, come and...
