Gus's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Hueytown

Gus' hot dogs is a great place to grab some hot dogs to go. My husband recently brought home a bag full of Gus' slaw dogs which are good but they used to be so much better. Not 100% sure if they've changed the slaw recipe but there was a noticeable difference in the taste and the amount of slaw on the hot dogs. It's a rather small restaurant meaning they can only accommodate a very limited amount of people that choose to dine in but they are really good at getting carry out orders prepared & out the door really quick. You will most definitely have several people in line ahead of you when you walk in because people in Hueytown love Gus', but I promise you that you will be in & out a whole lot quicker than most other restaurants...

Stop lying on your reviews. Those hot dogs are nasty. Over priced. And rude people. If you don't get the Gus Dog they judge you. The company should be confident in how the dog itself taste. You shouldn't have to smoother it in a bunch of condiments. I understand if you want to. My husband and I just tried the business for the first time and will never go back. We wanted to get a plain dog with cheese only so we could see the quality of the meat. It obviously isn't even 100% beef. The only flavor came the grill. Let us not fool ourselves...Ballpark is much better...5.70 for 2 plain hotdogs?...

My husband recommended this place because it has been around for a very, very long time. And while the service was great and the atmosphere was sa calculator the food was not very good. And I hate to say that because I know that. This place is well known and has been around for a long time And maybe it was just my order. But my Hot dog was drier than the Sahara Desert and the bun was so dry, It was crumbling into pieces. 😬 I know that a lot of people really like this place. And maybe I caught it on a bad day.
