Golden Bowl — Restaurant in Hughson

One of the best Chinese food restaurants I have had the pleasure to experience.

The restaurant is bright and airy, not your run of the mill, typical red and gold and dark.

CLEAN! CLEAN!! CLEAN!!! Glass dividers between booths sparkling clean, no food left on the floor from someone wiping the table or from a previous diner, tables are glass covered with a white table cloth beneath and again, squeaky sparkly clean.

Prompt friendly service during lunch time.

Hot and FRESH food brought to the table in a reasonable time frame.

Very attentive wait staff.

I had the combination place (I don,t remember the number) which included a cup of soup. The egg flower soup was delicious, did not disappointed. Next came the plate of two paper wrapped chicken, pork fried rice and garlic chicken. The paper wrapped chicken was above average serving size, fresh and tasty, NOT dry from sitting. The pork fried rice was flavorful, not not dry or salty. I was impressed by the simple fact the peas were fresh, like they had just been removed from the pod, not all wrinkly and squishy. The garlic chicken was my favorite! The garlic flavor was not overly intense, tasty, but not overwhelming, the chicken was breaded lightly and the sauce was to die for!

And lastly, but the cherry on top, the prices are very reasonable.

I will be back and I encourage you to have a meal at this...

I have family who live nearby and only ate here a few times. We live in Roseville and I work in the SF bay area and believe me, to say my wife and I are spoiled for choice when it comes to good Chinese food is an understatement! Golden Bowl is among the best.

First impression... the decor is dated but ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS. Everything is clean clean clean. My wife notices this type of stuff right away. We eat with our eyes first right? And if the dining room is filthy, one can assume the kitchen is worse. They get an A+ on their cleaning efforts.

Food was outstanding. We had the egg soup. Slightly Salty but not too bad. Some people might like it so no big deal. Fried asparagus is awesome. Crunchy with a juicy asparagus tip inside - and a dipping sauce to compliment. Garlic chicken, crispy, tender, flavor well balanced. Chow mein is soft and tasty without the greasy slimy thing going on at most places. Orange chicken is delicious without being over-breaded. They obviously use fresh oil to fry stuff. Some places use oil way too long and it shows.

Overall, very pleased with Golden Bowl. No "bogged down" feeling later in the day like other places due to over oiling everything.

Oh, and the people working there are VERY polite, nice, cheerful. Pricing is on par with competition and reasonable considering the inflation caused by the...

This restaurant is fantastic. I loved everything I ordered and tried the other plates too! The sweet and sour chicken has just enough kick and sweetness that makes it hard to stop eating. The egg drop soup was delicious. I rarely eat the soup when I go to other places but I finished it all. My mom ordered chow me in and I was pretty jealous. My mom also said the prawns were fantastic. My aunt had the chicken in foil with garlic chicken and friend rice. She loved it. The service was 5 STAR! They were very attentive and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I can't wait to go back. Oh one thing... DONT GO WHEN SCHOOL WILL BE LETTING OUT. The traffic to try to get out of the parking spot eas horrible. We must have waited 15 minutes or more to leave because parents are picking...
