Tried this place for the first time tonight. As I waited for my food, I heard two young women raving about how much they love this place! I was so excited to get home to try my food, I didnt skip a beat dropping my cash and running. I had ordered the Beef Stroganoff for myself, and Chicken Alfredo for my partner.

What really bothered me about my meal was how utterly tough and overcooked the meat was, and how the whole thing tasted of metal. I couldn’t figure out why I was tasting metal, come to find little flecks of tin foil ripped through from the bottom of the container in my food! They lined my hot pasta dish with a piece of pre-cut tin foil and apparently mine was damaged? We all make mistakes, but that one is a huge issue for me having been raised in a foodservice background. (I’d recommend maybe using parchment paper to avoid this in the future…)

I figured, this cannot possibly be a common occurrence. This must be a mistake, I read so many amazing reviews and the owner account connected to these google reviews seemed so kind!

I decided to read through some of the lower star reviews after throwing my very expensive meal in the trash, and noticed that the staff are really taking how hard Covid was/is and how hard hiring issues have been hitting them to heart. We are all short staffed, and we are all overworked. I don’t make nearly enough to be spending this kind of money to not be able to eat after a 12 hour shift alone in a retail environment. However, I still went out to get some food, no matter how long it took, or how bad the service was, and I didn’t have to wait, and the service was great! What bothers me, is how aggressive the owner is toward anyone bringing constructive criticism to the table, or sharing a bad experience they have and making them feel worse for it. I now don’t feel comfortable bringing my food issue to the restaurants attention, so I am bringing the issue here.

I’m giving the place two stars solely for the smell of my partners food, and how sweet the woman who handed me my food was. I will not be returning, but hope anyone who reads this decides to dine in instead of ordering to go to avoid my tin foil mishap, and to please be kind to the staff. They apparently think that because they’re short staffed, they can use that as an excuse for the mistakes that happen instead of...

I live roughly 2 miles from this bar and I have been going there at least 3 times a week for about 3 years(22, cooking is my nemesis). To be fair this was one of my favorite spots. I love the food and if you know when to go and what to order, you walk out with a fair price. Service is absolutely terrible unless they have their usual faces in there. Handful top notch the other 95% need to be pushing pencils away from any human contact. I went in on a Friday evening to grab a bite and sober cab for a friend and accidentally walked out without closing my tab(card on file). The next day when I remembered, I stopped by to make sure I was settled up and to make sure Pat got a tip and when he grabbed my tab it was $192...my charges were $17...they shoved people who didnt start a tab unpaid for drinks on my card. When I brought this to the managers attention she said it was not her problem and fought tooth and nail that she was never going to refund me my money. I literally got an appetizer and 2 beers and with a $200 tab. And you can't do anything for me? Customer service is the fundamental of running any long lasting prosperous business. I would have, over the course of the next year, spent north of $4,000 there. They will never see a cent from me again. Keep in mind the only reason I caught this was because of an extra trip I made to MAKE SURE MY TAB WAS SETTLED UP! Maybe if you bring back your waffle fries we can mend this broken relationship and get back to the good old days where I spent all my money with you in return for delicious food and cute waitresses. PS manager lady, you could have simply saved a die hard customer by understanding and respecting my concerns. Not sticking my receipt in my face arguing and fueling the already built up anger. I do anything to any extent to make sure not one customer leaves even unsure about the over all experience at my store and its disheartening to get taken, and treated as I did here. ME AND MY 4 HUNGRY ROOMMATES WILL...

When this place opened, you figured it for a long lasting, successful establishment. There was a heavy focus on service, and the original menu featured large portions with quality food. Now......Not so much. The last three times I have eaten there, the food, and especially service were completely lacking. Being that I am a "Support Your Local Business" man and believe firmly in it, I decided to give them one more shot. Tonight we called for carry-out, I spoke directly with the manager while ordering. We ordered Chicken Florentine Lasagna Roles, New Orleans Pasta, and a BLT. First off, I was never told that the Chicken Florentine Lasagna Roles were no longer on the menu. So when I went to pick up the food, I was told then and had to order something else and wait, which completely defeats the purpose of ordering out. Second, I told the manager I wanted the BLT with no onions and pepper jack cheese. Again he said sure. We come home and what do we find, cold fries with the BLT that had fried onions and pepper jack cheese on it. A New orleans Pasta without Shrimp, chicken in it that appeared to come out of a can that was very dry, completely undercooked green/red peppers and onions and no sauce. A dish that they have had since the beginning. Oh and no bread with any of the dishes, even the one we had to wait for. I can understand a busy evening and sometimes making a mistake, but the place was empty and this makes four times in a row. While I was picking up the food, the staff could've cared less I was there, seemed disgusted that I was upset that the item I had ordered was no longer on the menu and wanted to order something else. I have given them enough chances and The Blue Heron will no longer be receiving my family or friends patronage. It is unfortunate, and hopefully they will take this review to heart and start to realize there is a reason why the place is empty at 6:30pm on a...

I was surprised that I didn't love this place. There is so much potential. The atmosphere was wonderful but the food was less than impressive.. and our waitress, while being kind and attentive, was just.. "too much". She tried way too hard to be friendly and I liked her but her overuse of calling us "honey" was a little annoying. I'm not usually annoyed by it, and I know some people who absolutely hate it.. and once or twice would have been fine.. but it was probably closer to 20 times. I swear, she added it to the end of every sentence lol! "Sure thing, honey!" "Absolutely, honey!" "You got it, honey!" But again, she was super nice and served very well. So now the food.. my biggest gripe.. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. No idea what I got but it definitely didn't have buffalo on it at all. The fries were good, so I ate those while I waited for a side of buffalo sauce. The chicken in the wrap was pretty dry. My sister got some sandwich with soup and salad. Her sandwich looked good but she didn't finish it, saying it was dry and didn't have much flavor. Her salad was basically just a lazy pile of iceberg lettuce, which was funny cause the waitress said their salads were made of "the good lettuce". Anyways, I think she liked the soup. The food wasn't bad... but for the price and what you would expect from the atmosphere, it's very underwhelming and a bit disappointing. Going out to eat isn't cheap these days and when I go out, I want to feel like I got my money's worth or at least got what I paid for.. Definitely not the feeling I got when I left here. Bummer.. they had some seasonal drink called "winter delight" which was wonderful. Expensive for the amount you get, but I didn't mind so much being that it was good.

Updated Review 6-2-24: Lunch on the patio with another couple and the food was MUCH better! We tried the New Orleans pasta dish, Wrangler Flat Bread w/GF Crust, Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap w/Coleslaw, and the Chicken Fajitas w/lettuce cups in lieu of wraps. All the food was tasty - and the gluten free crust was surprisingly good (GF items are hit or miss) - the only thing we noticed was the low ratio of chicken to onions and peppers for the Fajita, it couldn't have been even 1/2 of a chicken breast from the looks. But the presentation for everything was excellent, the patio tables and chairs were clean and shaded, and the staff was friendly. 3-31-21: Met with family for a Sunday brunch, very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food and prices were good, they lose a star because the mini cinnamon rolls were undercooked on the bottom (think raw dough), and the eggs were all overdone. Over easy and up were more like medium yolks and all had a crunchy bottom - unexpected. We had a nice variety of food - chicken fried steak, tex mex skillet, biscuits and gravy, and a combo. The gravy was excellent!

I order 2 time already for the take out. The first time was pretty good as I order the bone in wing Cajun dry rub, spaghetti, and onion ring. The wing was pretty good, fresh. Spaghetti is so so for me as noodle is not cook well at all, texture feel uncooked, but the onion ring was good with the outside crush crispy. ( forgot to take picture) The 2nd time ( picture below) I order the grill cheese, cheese burgers, French fried, Tot and Onion ring. Cheese burger is ok, the grill cheese is pretty good. French fried was not warm and soggy and tot was not warm too. What hit me the most is the onion ring. As it doesn’t taste good at all. The outside isn’t crunchy like the first time I order. I feel like they change the batter and this is old onion ring or something. It was soggy and so much oil as it look like refried again. I’m really disappointed this time. Will try the third time and see if I should continue to go there.
