Horrific. Walked into a smell of death but endured it bc of the reviews I have come across and what I was told at the restaurant was natural from the seaweed. We were literally gagging bc of it. The food was ridiculously disappointing. Pioninos croquetas were very much mediocre to def not worth ordering. Our waiter’s energy was less than inviting as he approached the table ( which we sat w/ no menu for 20 minutes when it was not at all busy and had to at some point get up and ask for ). My 74 year old father ordered the grouper - salty as holy wow! He has blood pressure and it was over the top. The empanadillas of crab/ jueves came out obviously reheated , hard and cold. We made an effort to try to continue our meal and share it. At some point we just could not. We apologized and explained that how unsatisfied we were with it. Our server explained that it would be removed, and not to worry. We went on to order soup, churrasco steak ( which was ridiculously under done. We ordered medium and it came out rare beyond belief), beef empanadilla which was good and fresh. Oh man… we made the worst mistake and ordered the alcapurria and it came out. BLACK and again SUPER SALTY! Waiter seemed upset and stated that all alcapurrias look like this. We are Puerto Rican family consistently visits our island and tried to not be insulted by this considering so. With no rebuttals, my 73 yr old mom let the waiter know politely as possible that it is still really salty. When the bill came and after I respectfully tipped 25 % on our 120 plus dollar bill, regardless of the experience — I noticed that the dish was not removed as he had clearly stated to us. When I asked he said that bc it had been already handled/ eaten he could not take it off. I asked why he hadn’t mention that if he had assured us otherwise prior to, and his was response was bc he was busy/forgot.
Honestly it was our first night on vacation, my dad is beyond not well health wise his island is where is wanted to spend his time and it happens to also be my mothers bday so this is a special trip for so many reasons. The hospitality was such a complete down point and horrible way to begin our days on this...
Read moreHaving a place at Palmas, you get to know every restaurant there is. The GREAT ONES AND THE BAD ONES. This place is fun, has a BEAUTIFUL view by day, food is INCREDIBLE, and if there is live music, you will love it! Last night, since we arrived, our server was apparently having a bad night…or lifetime…he decided to make snide comments and treat us very poorly. Two people of our party left just as we sat down…TIO, our waiter, said he would NOT DIVIDE accounts (but it was the manner he said it that we did not like.) He kept on disappearing (which we did understand, since he had tables ALL OVER THE PLACE) We needed to order for the 10 year old girl in our party because it was late, and she was hungry. We asked another server to look for Tio, and he said that he WOULD GLADLY HELP US HIMSELF. When Tio came back about 8 minutes later, he scorned us saying we had to ask him and not others. I never got my food and had to cancel it…but ended up trying everyone’s…they were all AMAZING! We asked for the check to three servers because 35 minutes later there was still no check. When he came, he did not want us to check and do our own calculations. He kept on repeating about the checks not being able to be split. We only wanted to do calculations for us to resolve the check later on. At the end he DID NOT DESERVE THE 18% he MADE US GIVE. And yelled that that was the reason he did not split checks. TIO SHOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH PEOPLE. I do not think we...
Read moreThis isn't my first rodeo with La Pescaderia but it is possibly my last. I came in with my family and were sat down immediately. We had a pretty good table with a nice view. Our waitress came by, but I was still waiting on the rest of my family to come in. Once my family sat down we had a bit of a wait on the waitress. What was upsetting was two other guests came 10 minutes after and had their orders immediately taken by another waiter. We ordered our drinks .. we had lemonades and mojitos ordered. We found all of the drinks to be sour, but everyone has their preference to their lemonade and mojito but we would have preferred them to have a balance of a sweet and sour. Each of ordered our own food, but they were the nachos supreme, side of fries, pechuga a la parilla, mero bites, arepas regular, and arepas de coco. Out of everything, the fries and mero bites were the only food that was tasteful. All of our food came out room temperature. The presentation of the mofongo with the pechuga a la parilla was just not it. I saw the mofongo of other tables were much bigger and more presentable looking. The chicken was dried as well. The nachos supreme was a mixed of movie theater nachos and cheese with chicken taken from the Walmart Caesar Salad bowl. Both arepas order were cold. My family member found the regular arepas to be undercooked. It was honestly not it. The prices definitely did not match the quality of most of the...
