I came here yesterday evening for their 50% off milkshakes promotion after 5 pm. After walking in and ringing a button (there is no one ready to take your order and you have to wait for them to come out), I waited about 10 minutes before I interrupted someone that was carrying food outside to ask them about the promo. Nope, they said there was no such promo. So I was walking out when I found the promo. Again I pressed their button, and again I waited - this time about 10-15 minutes before the same person walked out. I showed her the screenshot, and again she goes back to check with staff. Yes, I had to wait another 10+ minutes again for a third time before having the chance to place my order. No apologies, no "sorry for the wait" - even though it had been at least 20 minutes since I had first walked in. At that point I just left.
I should also add, there were two other parties in the dining room at the same time. One simply wanted mayonnaise, and were made to wait around 15 minutes for it, after which they were told they didn't have any. Another had walked in because they weren't sure their app. order had gone through - and yes, they had to wait as long as I did just to find out whether their order had been placed.
One more thing, this appeared to be a management issue - for one, not training your staff on a nationwide promotion. But more importantly, the staff was actually working hard on orders, just apparently severely understaffed. I left feeling sorry for them and not wanting to add to their work - that's why I left without ordering after waiting 30 minutes. Also, this is the second poor experience I've had at this location (thought I'd give them another try in case they had had an "off" day the first time around) in as many visits, hence my one star review. Read moreOrder was messed up. All was correct except burger toppings 100% wrong. Burgers overcooked. Kindly corrected at least and left sides so we could start to date our hunger. Is Sonic usually slow? Took over 15mins to get the burgers, drinks and sides. Told my daughter at first could get milkshake at end, and am now waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Well over 30mins for 2 milkshakes. I understand FIFO, but every other restaurant prioritizes drink only orders just to get them out of the way. This is ridiculous. HOWEVER -- complaint to management and they admitted fault and came to a reasonable resolution. EDIT (first review 7 months ago). Went back to use the gift card we got on previous visit (don't live anywhere near here, so rarely come). Unfortunately no better and docking down to lowest rating. Bays closed (staffing issues I think she said. Ok, omicron, no problem), so used drive-thru. Ordered and got to the window quickly. Then sat for 15 minutes! Line piling up behind us. Shouldn't we have been sent to a bay to wait? But i guess no one behind us had only drinks orders, and not my problem. But that means food is fresh, right? Nope. Onion rings had gone through the fryer 2 or 3 times and were burnt to a crisp (even the onions were black in places!). My burger was wrong: #1 no cheese, easy, right? Nope. There was cheese, and no tomatoes or ketchup (menu specifically says mayo & ketchup on the burger). My daughter's more complicated burger was correct at least. I don't have time to wait another 15 minutes to remake food! Never...
Read moreNot impressed 😕 Seen all the Sonic commercials on TV and the food looks great "On TV" so when I saw the Sonic burger on Beach Blvd in Huntington Beach, I said to myself "self" let's try this "Corporate burger joint" and see what it's all about, it was around 11:30 AM the beginning of the day, so you'd think All the ingredients would be fresh, since it's the start of the day's lunch business. But Nooo, that's not how it played out. 😑 I Purchased a double bacon cheeseburger combo, Burger was soggy, 😝 meat texture was weird soggy and the lettuce had a bad taste to it.😝 it seemed to be days old "bag" shredded lettuce, the tomatoes were mushy not firm like fresh tomatoes are supposed to be, they looked like yesterday's tomatoes. 🤔 the bacon was nonexistent just two small pieces that got lost in the bad tasting lettuce and tomatoes mush... I could only stomach a couple of bites before I threw away more than half of the burger 😩 the fries were ok but small portion amount for the "large" size that I ordered 😐 I spent over $13.00 dollars for the meal, it was a waist of my money, but a cost effective lesson 🙃 it seems Corporate burger joints aren't the best places to go if you're looking for a quality burger. It All looks great on TV but the real article is substandard quality. 😐 I realize this was my first experience at a Sonic burger, and every restaurant can have an "off-day" but I can say this with confidence, I seriously doubt if there will be a second visit to a Sonic burger in my foreseeable...
