Birrieria Esquivel — Restaurant in Huntington Park

When plans change and it's a good thing. We were originally going for Indian food, but they were close. We drove around to see what was available. I'm not sure how we went from that to birria, but it was worth it.

Area : located at the heart of HP next block from Gallo Giro. Has its open parking lot with plenty of parking.

Inside: Pretty simple layout. Enough room to feel comfortable. Music is playing.

Food: We got a mixture of everything. I went for the taqutios de brirra. Never had them like that before. Amazing! Flavorful. My spouse went for the classic tacos, and we shared a flan. Bomb!. And all this comes with its on consome no charge. Gotta have that rice and beans. 8/10 of flavor

Service: It's over counter orders. Cashier was polite and well Imformed

Price: can't complain about price. Everything we got plus our horchata drinks (7/10) everything was under 50. Can't beat that.

My niece and sister-in-law told me about the HP location, so I thought we(my family and I)should give it a try ...not such a good idea. Going in, I was greeted by a smiling face, which is always nice, but upon being told to sit anywhere, we like sat on the corner by the door and found a medium size roach.🤢🤢🤢. I tried not to make a scene and discreetly told the cashier/waitress. She said sorry, picked up the roach, and went about her day. Our food came out extremely fast, a little too fast, some would say. The birria itself was okay. It was missing some flavor. Once we finished I asked the cashier/waitress if I could have a bag. She said could pack it up for me. It was then when I realized she hadn't changed her gloves!!! She wore the same gloves when taking our order, our money, sweeping the roach up, bringing our food to us, and packing it up. Nope, I would not recommend...

The tacos dorados are always perfectly balanced with the meat and cheese unlike other stingy places! The consome with it is also really good(I like to add most of the red sauce and lime juice in here instead of the tacos). The main cashier/waitress is also the sweetest most hardworking person. There's another birrieria spot nearby and I once called them for an order thinking it was this one, and let me tell you that the service and food there could never compare to this one. When I have my mom call the store I make sure to remind her to confirm the location...
