Hello to all, This restaurant has lasted for quite awhile in the Huntington Park community. I say that to establish a starting point of familiarity with it's location. As for my personal experience. The building is huge 3 points of enter/exit. I got in around 4:20p found the line really short so getting to the front was easy. The strongest language spoken in the restaurant is Spanish. With this said I was prepared to try. The 1st attendant and I started out fine but across between the language barrier, my comprehension, and hearing loss. She looked to an second colleague. Who did really well with her English to assist her coworker, as well as, myself. Really liked that experience.
Now as for the food pickup zone. The young lady in red with no hat on so assuming that she was a manager. To me every time she called out the number on the microphone it sounded completely muffled. When I thought she called out my number. I don't know if it was not being able to hear her up close when asking if my number was called or trying to understand the body language. I gotten a bit confused in waiting little longer and barely realized that she called out number 11. Went back to check on my number which was 9 she looked at one of the bags she marked, and just nicely slid the bag to me. Hince for this review 4⭐ the whole confusion at pickup. Depending on the quality of their microphone. Perhaps might help not to speak so close to the microphone , the voice can be more clear to hear. Otherwise it was a really nice visit. Have a nice day 😌😌
P.S. At the time of visit there was plenty of seats to...
Read moreDisappointing Experience with Pricing Discrepancy at Gallo Giro
I have been a regular customer at Gallo Giro and have always enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have left me with a sense of disappointment. This is the second time I've encountered a pricing discrepancy for a specific item that was advertised at $6.39 on the menu, but I was charged $7.99 at the cashier.
During my previous visit, the manager on duty promptly resolved the issue, but on my most recent visit, my request to speak with the manager went unanswered. The cashier, allegedly following the manager's instructions, offered me a modified version of the dish, excluding the beans, rice, and tortilla. This was a departure from the usual quality and service I've come to expect from Gallo Giro.
I've attached pictures of both the receipt and the menu display to illustrate the pricing inconsistency. It's disheartening to encounter such discrepancies, and I hope the management takes immediate steps to address these issues and prevent them from recurring in the future.
I appreciate the efforts of the Gallo Giro staff in the past, and I sincerely hope the restaurant can maintain the high standards that have made it a favorite...
Read moreOk, Mexican food. I ordered two tacos al pastor (marinated pork), a taquitos plate with rice and refried beans, and a green chicken pozole with a medium-sized watermelon drink. Food price near 30 dollars. Quality of food didn't reach half of what I paid for. Rice is bland. Beans are bland. Pozole not good either. Chicken flavor prevalent in their chicken soup is on the pozole. Why mask the natural and authentic chicken flavor with chicken flavoring? Also chicken's texture was like rubber, no different from their beef stew. The marinated pork was cold and highly red in color it seems awkward. Meat flavor was bland. Bad overall experience. Other than the watermelon drink that actually did a great job to bring me back from the dead after the deadly food quality, I think that this joint has lost its culinary excitement for fresh homemade Mexican cuisine. Come for the watermelon drink its wonderful. For good authentic and exciting Mexican cuisine try other places like La Barca that's just a few blocks away from EGG. Or Fiesta Mexicana. Or El Pescador. EGG is very far from real authentic...
