Captain D's — Restaurant in Huntington

I used the drive thru this evening and the wait was so long that 3 other cars left before ordering and 2 different people pulled out of the drive thru line, parked, went in and within 2 minutes came back out and left !! I patiently waited in line to order in 100 degree weather, but was very disappointed in my meal which was the 4 piece fish dinner. The fish batter tasted like it had been cooked in burnt grease and the taste and odor seeped into the slaw which also made that impossible to eat. I’ve also noticed that the size and quality of the fish isn’t near what it has been in the past. So basically, I paid for and only got to eat 4 small pieces of fish without the batter after stripping it off. It has been a while since I ate Captain D’s due to the decline in their food, and after today, I’m sorry to say, it will most likely be quite a while...

I really like their Fish & chicken combo. I substitue Country Style Fish for the batter fried fish. The Broiled/Baked fish is good if you're looking for a healthier option. The sauces are good and you can get the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce in a large 4oz cup if you ask. They have a variety of vegetable sides to chose from. If you don't eat meat, then steer clear of the green beans as they have meat in them. This is one of our favorite take-out rr restaurants in town. But, if they're really busy, they can occasionally leave out sauces or get the order wrong. Oh, I don't eant to forget to mention how great their iced tea is. I sometimes buy it by the gallon! The "Sweet Tea" is very sweet. If you don't like really Sweet Tea then get them to add a little "Unsweet Tea" to...

I usually love Captain D's but today I ordered 2 3pc fish meals and a chicken meal. I ordered one fish meal with breadstick instead of hush puppies and hush puppies on the other one. When I got home with it they both had breadstick which were very hard. The girl at the drive thru window never asked me if I wanted tarter sauce or dipping sauce or anything. She handed me the bag and I said could I please have some tarter sauce and quite a bit of it. We love tarter sauce on our fish. She hands me one small container of tarter sauce for 2 3 pc fish dinners. I was not happy with this order at all. Like I said I usually love Captain D's but not this time. I might add they were not busy at all so I don't see an excuse...
