West Tenampa Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Huntington

South Tenampa use to be one of my favorite restaurants..but it has gone downhill. The dining room looks grubby most of the time (was there last night and some of the lights in the dining room were out.) Also, in the men’s bathroom, there was toilet paper and paper towels in the floor. The actual roll of paper towels was not in the dispenser, but laying in the floor as well. Women’s bathroom wasn’t much better. The bar has been dirty the last couple of times I’ve been there. Dried up crusty food stuck to it. The food is hit or miss anymore, sometimes when I go it’s awesome, but other times the food tastes like it’s been sitting out for hours. The rice is either greasy or dried up. The servers are great, very attentive most of the time. But the last few times we’ve been there, there hasn’t been a friendly face greeting us. I assume she’s the manager, Bc she sits in the front booth and does nothing the whole time I’m ever there, didn’t even look up from her phone when we walked in..she just yelled to us to have a seat where ever..never got up to give us menus, nor to offer us drinks or chips and salsa. We were only offered those things once our server, who was obviously busy doing everything else, came to our table. One day my family and I walked in, and she was standing at the podium by the door, FaceTiming with someone and seemed annoyed that we had came in. We STILL had to seat ourselves. But if a server is available, they always greet us with a smile and seat us. At one point our server was waiting on tables, and also busing tables, while she sat in that booth playing on her phone. He still managed to provide us with excellent service, even tho he had a million other things to do. It’s not a bad restaurant, just poorly managed. I love the servers, they are the only reason I come back. But if the food doesn’t improve, not even the service will bring me back. I use to tell everyone to go eat there, but now I tell them to just go to the West Tenampa. Better managed and cleaner. The servers are better at south, hands down. I love them all. Every week or every other week me and my sister in law go and order the same thing which is just little pieces of cooked chicken with white cheese sauce over it and 3 tortillas shells and and extra small order of cheese sauce it ALWAYS comes to $17 and some change well we decided to go in and eat today and ordered the same ol thing except 2 drinks was put on the order well we was expecting ya know add $4 or $5 more dollars on the bill it will be $23 dollars at most...NO they gave us the check and I about died it was $30 I told them I wasn't happy with the price reason being I always ordered the same thing and it was never this much they refused to listen and said there's no way I got it for that much and if I did it wasn't there so I paid the bill and simply told them I'll not eat back there at that restaurant again I think they charge u what they want to charge cause they know u will pay it well not me anymore they lost a...

I posted this review on their Facebook page, and they deleted it. I went there about a week ago, with a friend from out of town, we got seated right away at a table right past the kitchen, we waited 10 minutes for anyone to come take our drink order, and we were just about to leave when the waiter finally came up, he took our order, and after another 5 minutes we glanced over to the kitchen to see the cook wearing normal nasty looking clothes, with a dirty toboggan on his head. We noticed all he was doing was scooping the sides out of bins sitting on the counter, no ice, not hot-wells to keep the food at temperature. he then proceeded to pick up our tortillas with his bare hands to prepare our food.
