I'm a foodie, a locavore, and an obsessive home cook, so The Wild Ramp is always the first place I go when I arrive back in Huntington (literally on the way home from the airport).
The produce selection is entirely seasonal, which is how it should be, so options always vary. In the summer, the produce selection is expanded twice a week by a farmers market behind the store where you can get awesome veggies and fruit from local farmers.
The cheese from Gallipolis Ohio's Laurel Valley Creamery is stellar, especially their cheese curds. (And cost literally a third of what they would cost back in the Bay Area!) The meat is excellent too, nothing factory farmed, just good local ranches. And there are hundreds of other local products like dried herbs, fresh pasta, lams and preserves, sauces, beans and flours, grits, and baked goods including the BEST pepperoni rolls.
The Wild Ramp is also my go to for a good selection of locally roasted coffee. There's even a big section of things like handmade soaps and crafts, which aren't my thing, but you might like.
Also, the people are super nice and the Ramp is a nonprofit so definitely a labor of love....

The market itself is clean, well-lit, and thoughtfully organized, making it easy to navigate through the wide variety of locally sourced products. I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of goods available. Their selection of fresh vegetables looked vibrant and inviting, and their meats appeared to be of top quality. I also enjoyed browsing their shelves of bottled sauces, canned jars of pickled delights, and bags of sweet and savory kettle corn.
Beyond produce and pantry staples, The Wild Ramp offers unique artisan items such as handcrafted cutting boards, pottery, and even locally made earrings. Their goat milk soaps smelled wonderful, and the on-site coffee grinder and selection of coffee beans added a cozy touch to the atmosphere.
All in all, The Wild Ramp is more than just a market—it’s a warm and inviting celebration of local craftsmanship and...
Read moreThe Wild Ramp is my favorite local store in Huntington. They have a wide variety of produce, meat, art, craft, plants, foods, and probably more throughout the year. Many things are seasonal, but there's always something useful or wanted year round! Love supporting local business! The quality is always high. They have a fairly active internet presence and have done well operating through the COVID-19 pandemic. Prices can be high sometimes, but remember, you're supporting your neighbors! However, you can expect fresh produce at a fair price when the Farmer's Market is open...
