Mixed review. In my reviews I stay honest, if I eat here again, and my opinion changes so will this review.
Aesthetic 3/5 very rustic vibes, I love the use of reclaimed wood, but awkward open space between the sides of the sitting area, unclear if you are to seat your self or go to the back where the kitchen is and order ahead. plants not in pots in the window and dirt all over the window display floor. Booth extremely uncomfortable to sit at. Not wide enough to sit on and way too tall, my feet dangled almost a foot off the ground and I’m an average size person.
Staff 2/5 The lady who takes the orders is very nice and easy to talk to. The other had a very harsh vibe, and the dude was just a rude person, seemed like he could be nice but just didn’t want people to be there. Something I can get over if the food is good and the price is reasonable.
Menu 4/5 They have a good selection of food to order from, that’s different from every other chain restaurant in the area.
Food 2/5 Green beans were bussin, different from just ham and onion and a little black pepper green beans but definitely good. Corn bread was also good, tasted a little lest sweet than jiffy cornbread but same texture just the right amount of cornmeal and flour ratio. Potato salad was good not my favorite but not something you wouldn’t eat if you like potato salad. Baked beans were good nothing special, and the pineapple was good as well. Husband had Alfredo and said he had no complaints. The reason for the 2/5 on food is because of the pork chop. I have never personally cooked, or purchased a pork chop that smelled like it had gone bad before. I take the meat off the bone and go to eat the rest of the meat off the bone with my mouth like a rib. I take a bite and as I do so I smell the smell of bad meat. I instantly spit it out I smelled the bone again and the the meat I had separated off and all of it smelled rancid, I then have my husband smell it unprompted to see if it was just me, he instantly was worried I had eaten this bad meat.
Price 2/5 A bit pricey for diner food that’s mediocre at best with no where comfortable to sit.
Will I be giving this place a second chance or eating here again? No

Read moreUPDATE!!!! Since seeing the owners post, I did give Mountain Mamas another chance just going in knowing what to expect as far as the first time I did take my food togo as suggested.... I have updated my review to a 5.0.. I have to say hands down this is the BEST food in this area if you really are looking for some good soul food !! I am very pleased with the taste! and wisj they was open every day I would never cookl!!! I thought I could only get that type of food from my grandmothers kitchen!! But man was it good!!! very pleased!!!! Great service, and fab food!!! Thank you guys for the excellent food!!!
I have to say overall the food was good. The reason behind my rating is I asked for dine-in, It started by I received a warm soda in a can I asked for ice they don't have ice. I got my food on a plastic tray in a to-go box with plastic ware no salt/pepper shakers or anything on the tables its hard to cut a porkchop with those cheap plastic forks and knives and I got my ticket soon as she dropped the food off instead like most places letting you finish your meal and asking if you want dessert. At this point I felt that maybe I should take my food home since I needed a plate and a fork and knife to eat my food. Once I got home my green beans were cold I had to heat those up again. This is not what I was looking for as far as dining in again I have to say the food was good but if I had known the dining experience I would have just door dashed my food and stayed home. I wanted to go out to eat and enjoy a Sunday meal not go get food and bring it home. So if you are looking for a good sit down restaurant where real plates and silverware are used this is not the place but if your looking for a good grab and go and don't mind to eat out of to-go boxes ext. then this is the place to go... The cook did very well... Just the dining experience for me was not it... at all .... Maybe invest in some paper plates and better eating utensils ( if you don't want to use real ones) and not make customers feel like they need to take the box and go else...
Read moreWe took a chance based on reviews and we were not disappointed. We were both wanting some good fried chicken, it’s hard to find it, and it paid off. The greens were not mushy, corn bread was good and the yams were maid like my dad use to make them with red hots to flavor
The food is made to order so it may take a bit longer than most restaurants but it is worth it. Most of the orders are to go but they have a few booths they built themselves so you can sit and eat.
There were a lot of locals picking up dinner so if you are looking for ideas of what to get ask one of them they love to help out.
The staff is friendly and want to make sure you are happy and enjoy your meal. So we highly recommend stopping by if you are in...
