Sal's Pizza Place — Restaurant in Huntley

I'll start by saying the staff has always been great the dozen times I have purchased from Sal's. I have always done carry out though just to note.

The pizza is always well made and tastes great. The sides we have purchased have been the wings, jalapeno peppers and fried zucchini. These have been pretty good as well. We had a bad experience with the fried zucchini once but could have been a bad batch, the times after that were fine.

I would recommend using the coupons always, the reason why I am not giving 5 stars is the pricing. There are similar pizza establishments nearby that would provide more food for the cost of Sal's. The quality of Sal's is a step above so that could explain the costs, but wish there were more specials in general that do not require coupons. Like a pizza with a side and drinks at $XX.XX etc.

My husband and I tried Sal’s for the first time tonight. We ordered two pizzas, wings and zucchini sticks. We were told at the time of the order that delivery would take 1hour. At the 1 1/2 hour mark I called Sal’s back to inquire where our delivery was. The person who answered the phone checked on our order and came back to inform me that our order was out for delivery. We live 10 min from the Huntley location and our order was finally delivered a little over two hours later. I understand the weekends are busy and the establishment may have been short on staff tonight but, I wish the person I spoke with when I called after an hour and half would have told me the order was still being made- I could have drove and picked up my own order faster than what it got delivered. I gave two starts because of this experience. I really don’t care to eat the food at this point. I am not writing this review in hopes of some kind of refund or free food. I used Sal’s catering services. The food was great. I was worried there wouldn’t be enough as I had 10 people rsvp two days before my event. (Sal’s requires a headcount 4 days prior.)

There was more than enough!! The food was great! Highly recommend the roasted potatoes- those were a hit!! I loved that they provided to-go containers. I didn’t think I’d have leftovers but there was so much food that we were able to send some guests home with Sal’s provided to-go boxes. Nice touch.

They were extremely reasonable per person.

Service- Jeff delivered and set up for us. He was to the exact minute on time. (I happened to look at the clock.) 2:30 arrival. He was great! He set up everything and asked how I wanted the layout to flow. Set up accordingly. Jeff did wonderfully. Very personable as well.
