I've visited Charlie Foster's twice now. It's a beautiful little shop housed in Stovehouse with a color scheme reminiscent of the best Valentine's Day ever. Modern, comfortable decorations and relaxing music make it a great place to chill out.
There's a cool story about their ghost motif and how they got their name. Even cooler is their commitment to providing work opportunities to people with disabilities. They have an admirable mission and a very cool space.
That being said, I just haven't enjoyed my coffees much either time I've been. My first visit I had an iced mocha, and my second I tried an iced vanilla cold brew. Both drinks were poured in beautiful glasses and /looked/ really good, but I honestly didn't taste anything other than coffee which is...not what I was looking for.
Don't get me wrong, I like coffee! But personally, I like my coffee offset by a good dose of some other flavor, preferably sweet. Chocolate, vanilla, toffee, pumpkin spice - it doesn't really matter, I just like a little extra flavor. But neither of my drinks had the vanilla or chocolate flavor as described; to me, they were both quite bitter. The mocha did have a hint of chocolate at least but it was still just too much for me personally.
That being said, if you are a person who is really into strong coffee flavors, this is the spot for you! The drinks are very smooth and I can tell of a high quality, just maybe not so much for me. Give it a shot if that sounds appealing!
An aside: they also do have some food here! The menu changes up fairly regularly but you can usually find some kind of baked goods both sweet and savory (eg cookies, brownies, pizza bagels, avocado...
Read moreI LOVE Charlie Foster’s. The location is perfect and the coffee divine. I love the fun seasonal flavors of coffee concoctions they offer, but a drip coffee, black, is my absolute favorite.
My second favorite part about Charlie fosters, is the atmosphere. Inside Charlie Fosters, is an inviting, relaxing, and calm coffee shop. I love that to the right as you walk in, there is a pretty large free library. And the inside is very spacious with modern seating.
I come to Charlie Fosters often to get an hour or two of work in, while enjoying a hot beverage. Additionally, I love sitting outside when the weather is nice to catch up with a friend or two.
Oh and the FOOD! Definitely not to be overlooked! If you haven't tasted the breakfast burrito, it is a must try! It has eggs, potatoes, onions, and its oh so cheesy. I love popping in to Charlie Fosters around for breakfast but I have ordered a breakfast burrito at lunch too! Next on my list of food to try, is the pizza bagel!! It reminds me of my childhood and since it’s on a bagel, you can eat it whenever!
Five stars, two thumbs up, double high five! Again, I love...
Read moreincredible coffee and friendly employees!! I, myself, am in a wheelchair (cerebral palsy) and it’s so lovely to see people hiring disabled individuals! Because of that, Charlie Fosters is SUPER open and accessible. I actually met the owner, (whom i didn’t know was the owner at the time) while searching for a trash can to throw my cup away. Not only did he apologize for sweeping (simply doing his job) because it got in my tires, (which was completely fine. he really had no need to apologize.) but he also proceeded to ask me if I needed help opening the bathroom door because he thought I was heading that direction! When i explained that I was actually looking for a trash can he said “oh i’ve got it!” and threw the cup away for me, due to the trash can being directly behind him. and don’t even get me STARTED on the coffee. Some of the best in town. Great place to bring friends of all shapes and sizes due to how friendly and respectful they are. I also appreciated the Take-A-Book-Leave-A-Book library they had, despite not taking any!...
