Chick-fil-A — Restaurant in Huntsville

Not in love with the fact that they are not open on Sundays. I eat on Sunday, and I don't think that is an odd habit of mine. Having said that, Chic-fil-a is running away with the fast food market because of two things. First, customer service. I think we all used to take that for granted 15 years or so ago. Every other fast food restaurant I can think of has cashed out on customer service. They treat the customer like a nuisance. Not Chic-fil-a. I appreciate that. If the drive through line is getting long, they deploy folks out there taking orders on ipads. They repeat your order to make sure they got it correct without you having to ask them to. And they always get it correct. This particular Chic-fil-a, just outside gate 3 at Redstone, offered me a free desert because they were out of honey mustard sauce. They didn't make excuses, they apologized and tried to make it right. Unheard of in today's service industry. Whenever I have a manager from the service industry contact me about a negative review, I tell them "go figure out what Chic-fil-a is doing. And then go do that." Oh I almost forgot - they have delicious food. Again, shoulders above every other fast food. Try the spicy chicken sandwich meal. Don't get me started on the sweet tea. If I were the Chic-fil-a management team, I'd keep an eye on your stores in Huntsville. Very fast growing area, I think you have plenty of room for expansion. When folks file back in after lunch at conferences, they complain about a lot of the fast food in this area, either service or the food or both. But not yours. Folks in the office, same thing. While returning to work I stopped by Chick-fil-A to grab some lunch to go. I ordered the #3, Chick-fil-A eight piece nuggets meal. This combo meal came with eight piece nuggets, waffle fries and a drink. The combo meal cost $6.89, the total came to $7.51. I got the meal to go so I could enjoy the meal after returning to my office. The staff was very friendly and the meal came very quickly. It had been some time since I had eaten at a Chick-fil-A so I had high expectations since I have frequently multiple restaurants that have various types of chicken on their menu. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The chicken nuggets were small child size bites that were more breading than chicken, the waffle fries were cold and the Powerade beverage was watered down. I have seen long lines of vehicles often backing up traffic on the street queued and waiting to place their food order through the drive-thru. WIth the meal I received it was not worth waiting in line for. Needless to say my most recent trip reinforced why I had not returned to a Chick-fil-A in so long. There is Wing restaurant less than to minutes from Chick-fil-A has an extensive menu of wings and tenders that are far better quality and quantity. For $12 at that restaurant you can get ten large fresh meaty tenders that is substantial for two meals. Unfortunately due to the poor quality and quantity an Chick-fil-A it will be even longer before I return, if I return to try their chicken again. Its pretty bad when you have to clean your own benches and table to sit down as the manager or possible franchise owner helps a younger couple pull their table under the hanging light (where it actually should be) as she watches me wipe our table and benches off to sit so we are not covered in others food, drinks and condiments they left behind. Its been going down hill the past 2 times we have been to this location, it wasnt that busy except for drive thru which is normally constant traffic. Another gentlman walked over to the side we were on as well (near the restrooms), sat down and one table, got up, sat at another, got up, and shook his head, got a few napkins and cleaned his own table and one side on the bench and then sat down to wait on his food. To be honest this location needs to be drive thru only since the inside is horrible and not taken care of, the staff doesn't care enough to clean the tables, sweep the trash up off the floors, or even empty the trash that was running all over the place.
