Every time my wife and I have stayed here, we’ve had a poor experience. The rooms always smell damp and musty, and last year we were mistakenly charged twice for our room. It took four days for the refund to process. During our most recent visit, we needed to extend our stay but couldn’t get another room at Hotel Breakers. We ended up eating at the restaurant near the golf course not because we had no other options, but simply because we were hungry. We placed a phone order for two chicken sandwiches, but when we arrived, the waitress took nearly 10 minutes to greet us because she was laughing and chatting in the back completely unprofessional. When it came time to pay, she incorrectly charged us $94 for someone else’s order, mind you our order was only 34$. The sandwiches we received were burnt, soggy, and the chicken was dry and overcooked. She had to call the manager to fix the bill, and again it took four days for the money to be returned to our account. While speaking with the manager, he briefly pocketed my wife’s credit card before handing it back when we called him out on it. We explained that our experience mirrored the poor treatment we’d received during our last stay, and his response was simply, “Welp, that’s a double whammy.” He then asked if he could do anything for us, while looking over at the bar as if offering us a drink in the middle of a 90-degree day would make up for the situation. Finally walked back into restaurant to see if they even HAD table service. (I was pleasant and asked nicely.) The server's one-word reply: "Yes". (She seemed irritated that I would even ask.) Waited another 5 minutes before the server returned. We ordered our drinks and lunch at that time (2 diet colas, a burger and cole slaw, and a salad).
