We ate here last week during our stay at kalahari. We got sat around 9 pm at a long table that was kind of like a J shaped booth since it was 4 adults and 3 young kids and a baby. When we sat, I noticed the table on our end, which was tucked in the corner, was very scuffed up and written on. I even mentioned to my sister that it's sad people can't keep things nice and how kalahari has gone a little downhill since we were there last. Our server was busy and came over after about 10 minutes and apologized for making us wait, which we were fine with, not a problem. He kind of seemed irritated, like either we were there too close to closing for his liking (closing was 10), or he was just super busy, (it was not busy) but we couldn't tell. Every time he came to the table, he seemed kind of annoyed with us or his job, didn't really make small talk, or was very short and cold. We finished our meals, which were just ok and left a reasonable tip. At around 12:30 a.m., after our family had gone to bed, we had a very loud knock at the door. The kalahari security wanted to talk to us about us damaging a table at sortinos. They said the waiter and manager said it hadn't been there prior to us eating. We then knew why the waiter was being so cold to our group. They were aggressively threatening to call the police and telling us it was a felony charge and the table was 1500 dollars. It was ridiculous!!! We repeatedly told them it was already there when we sat down. After my husband yelled at the security that it was crazy that they were waking up our family so late and about something we hadn't done, that they SHOULD call the police and we could talk to them. the one security guard said he had to call someone. He was gone for about 5 minutes, and when he came back, he quickly and carelessly apologized and said that whoever he called said the table had been like that for a while. It was clear that the waiter had immediately blamed us for something we did not do, which ultimately ruined our night. We were left all wide awake from the chaos. I would warn anyone to tell your waiter if there is any damage to the seat or table when you arrive so this doesn't happen to you. Who knows how far that would've gone if whoever the security guard called hadn't told them it had been there a while. We will never return...

Read moreWe went to eat on a Thursday night during school, so let’s just say it was not busy. We were seated very promptly. Our servers came to the table in a reasonable amount of time. We had 2 servers because one was in training. The one in training took our order. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. We ordered a beer, a water, and a Dr. Pepper. The Dr. Pepper and water were promptly brought to the table with bread and oil. We were told the beer would be right out. 10 minutes later the server in training came to the table and asked if we needed anything. We asked for a refill of both the water and Dr. Pepper and asked about the beer. Water was brought, Dr. Pepper was not. Our food then came to the table by a runner. A few minutes later the non-training server came to check on us. We again asked for more Dr. Pepper and a beer. She promptly apologized and went to get both items. By the time we received the beer, we were almost done eating. We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Marsala. The Alfredo was pretty good, but the Marsala tasted like they dumped an entire salt shaker into the sauce. The Alfredo came with a giant chunk of garlic bread which I moved to an empty plate for more room. One of the servers just swooped in and took the garlic bread away without saying a word. We mentioned to them that they took the garlic bread, and they offered to replace it. We declined, but just asked for more oil for the complimentary dinner bread. The servers came back to the table a few minutes later and took the plate of Marsala which was barely eaten and never once asked if something was wrong. We never ended up getting more oil for the bread at all. We definitely shared our displeasure with the service to the 2 servers. We got a reply of “I’ve been doing this a long time and have never received feedback like this, but I apologize.” They offered to get the manager but we declined. Very disappointed for an $80 meal for 2. Very poor and forgetful service on a night that...
