RUDE GM, TEACHERS BEWARE... I am a teacher for BISD & went there earlier today & ordered 4 drinks. Most teachers know that most Sonic´s offer a teacher discount if you show your badge & I had come here a few times before & ordered 2-4 drinks during my prep for my team and never had a problem. I would show my badge & get the dollar off discount, no big deal. Today I went through the drive through and when the Sonic employee asked if I had an ID, I said yes I had mine and he said he couldn´t give me a discount on the other 3 drinks unless I had 3 more badges. I said ok, thatś fine but the discount had been given to me before. He then proceeded to say that it must have NEVER been while he was there because he was the GM & it was strictly forbidden. That he couldn´t just be giving out $1 off drinks to anyone who was a teacher & had 1 badge because then someone could order 10 drinks! .... I said yes, I understand that, and that I didn´t know it was a problem as I had been able to do it at other Sonics too. He responded saying it was impossible because as far as he knew, they were the only Sonic that did the teacher discount. I said no, that I knew of at least 3 others in the area that did it... After I finally was able to order & pull up to the pay window and waited for my drinks, I could hear him talking to another worker about the conversation we had just had & how he needed them to expressly know that they were NOT just going to be giving teacher discounts unless they can prove they are one. When he opened the window, I held up my teacher badge & he REACHED AND GRABBED IT... inspecting it like I would have made a fake teachers badge just to get a dollar off 4 drinks! He then demanded to know the other Sonic´s that did the teacher discount & I told him before paying & wishing him a Merry Christmas.
As a teacher, we do not demand much and I could not believe someone who represents a company would be such a Scrooge right before the holidays. I will never be returning to that Sonic & after sharing this story with my fellow teachers, they will not be either. The GM incredibly aggressive, berating & unprofessional... all in the name of $1...
Read moreLike any other review of a fast food restaurant, these are always a SnapShot in time. However, my experience at this sonic this evening was not very good.
The first slot I pulled into the order screen was black with some typing on there like a glitched screen. Pulled out, went to the next one, had the same experience. Pulled out and drove down looking over my left shoulder until I saw one that had a working screen. I pulled in and pushed the button. A message came up that said that it had been activated and someone would take my order soon. Time is difficult to measure in these situations, i w not in a hurry. Was texting away. It felt like ten minutes later, nothing had happened. The red bar that said it had been activated eventually disappeared, and it said, press the button.If you would like to order.
I pulled out and noticed they had a drive thru. So I went through the drive thru and placed my order. The young lady that took my order took it quickly and was very polite, very courteous and very efficient. She confirmed my order and got my order to me quickly, 5 stars to her.
I bet over my many years I have ordered a hundred or more oreo sonic blasts. This is the worst one I have ever gotten. Maybe the only bad one. It was inedible. And I will eat almost anything. The oreo cookies were stale and soggy. (Gross) The soft surf ice cream tasted really funky. It made me nervous to even eat it because of the strange taste. So I didn't eat it, I threw it away. In all my decades of going to sonic restaurants, I have never, ever not finished a sonic blast and certainly have never thrown one away.
Again, it might have just been a bad day for this particular restaurant. I hope others have had positive experiences here, and will have positive experiences here going forward. This message is more for the owners of the restaurant that they might investigate the electronics on their boards. And at the very least the ingredients and freshness of their sonic blasts. Does the soft surf machine need cleaning? Wishing...
Read moreGave a pretty sinple order I don't change menu items other than no tomato so maybe that threw everyone off. My daughters slushies were way too sour to be normal so threw them out and even though I asked before i drove away if everything was in bag they confirmed. Some would say that's on the customer but that blaming a honeowner for being robbed at this point. I've worked fast food and everything is on the screen it isn't hard to confirm orders. Worst part was customer service. I'm missing $11 in items and drinks were bad so around $16 loss. They say I can drive all the way back and get 2 items left out. Not even worth it. Whenever I messed up I always wanted to make it right with the customer. This place though won't give free coupon by email just to make up for the original cost. Nope you have to take the time out of your day and drive back to them just so you can get stuff they should have gave you the first time. Go to a different one or none at all Sonic has failed it's employees at training and its showing big time. Only upset this time because this is the 5th time its happened now.
