On September 13, 2025, my husband and I ordered a dozen cookies (Half Dozen Dubai Chocolate Filled & Half Dozen Chocolate Chip) from this location through Uber Eats and we picked them up from the store. While eating, I bit into a rock that was baked inside one of the cookies.
I saved the object, took photos, and even had to schedule an urgent dental appointment to make sure there was no lasting injury. Thankfully, the x-rays showed no cracks, but the trauma of unexpectedly biting into a rock and seeking dental care because of the pain it caused is unacceptable.
When I reached out with full documentation, the companyâs response was dismissive and unacceptable. Instead of accountability, I was told: âAll of our cookies are made in large batches and if there is a quality concern, any issues would generally affect multiple customers. As of today, we have not been made aware of or heard of any issues from other customers, so we feel confident in saying that we donât suspect any quality issues with any of our products.â
In other words, because no one else reported biting into a rock, they implied my experience wasnât valid. That kind of logic isn't only insulting, itâs dangerous.
They also deflected responsibility by saying: âAs the order/form of payment was not paid through our systems (Uber Eats), unfortunately, we are unable to process a refund on our end as we do not have access to payment information from separate systems and that would need to be followed through Uber directly.â
So not only was I left without a resolution or even a standard refund, I was essentially told it wasnât their problem. To add insult to injury, their closing line was:
âWeâre hoping you have a speedy recovery and if you have any further questions or concerns, please donât hesitate to reach out.â
Thatâs not accountabilityâthatâs brushing off a serious food safety issue.
Food safety and customer care should be taken seriously. This experience has been stressful, painful, and disappointing, and itâs clear that customer well-being is not a priority. Due to no resolution, I cannot recommend this location.
