Lexington Betty Smoke House Lexington Betty Smoke House #1. I’m very disappointed. I was at this restaurant for the first time over a month ago and was excited to try there jackfruit Mac and cheese. Mostly excited that a black owned business was seasoning some jackfruit and Mac n cheese. After waiting a very long time for my order in which someone obviously made an error on I decided I couldn’t wait for them to correct it and start over. That was when it really went left. The gentleman on the register was unfamiliar with how to issue a credit. The manager or similar told him how to do it and he issued me a credit on a card for my $16 order plus tax. They were all smiles and apologetic and I left happy and ready to patronize them again. Well today was that day 10/7/22. I went in and asked how much was on my credit they told me $25 and I proceeded to order. Then as they rung up the order they said it was less than $5 on the card. Really this had to be a joke or human error. That’s when the Same manager or owner came from behind the cooking area to say. Maybe you gave the card to someone else to use. That was even funnier than waiting forever for the initial order. Needless to say. I left them with the $4+ dollar useless credit and went about my business. That was a $16 plus tax lesson to not patronize them again. I probably wouldn’t have written this long drawn out post but not only did I feel insulted but I was contemplating using them for the various events I host or am responsible for catering. Very disappointed.

The response to this post from management 5 hrs ago is even more disturbing. I own 3 businesses and I understand not wanting to be taken advantage of. At the end of the day I 100% deny using or even stepping foot in your establishment other then my initial encounter and today. Also no one magically went in my purse and used the card. I’m out of $17 dollars and I’m ok with that but please don’t insult my character with a phantom purchase. I wish your establishment well and suggest better protocols and not patron...

I. Ame to this place thinking I was going to enjoy some delicious food however ,that was definitely not the situation.

The young man at the front counter was extremely nice and pleasant throughout my visit however, the manager was rude and ghetto. I actually cleaned the police and walked to the police station across the street to file a complaint.

Here's the scenario. As I was waiting patiently waiting for my food a young lady walked into the establishment. She walked immediately behind the counter where the drinks are kept. She took off her outer wear then proceeded to where the cashiers were. Its important to note here that she never washed her hands after coming from outside. Shortly after a brief conversation she headed directly to the back to where food was being prepared. While there she engage in conversation with the manager for was preparing food without gloves. As if that wasn't bad enough the young lady decided to , in clear view , take her bare unwashed hands and place them down her back as if to scratch her back as she stood directly adjacent to where food was being prepared.

After witnessing this clearly unsanitary exhibition I decided that I did not want to eat epithelial cells nor become ill by eating that was prepared in unsanitary conditions. At this point I asked for my money back before receiving my food and was told they didn't do refunds. At this point I asked for the owner number and received a flat out no.

They tried several times to get me to take my purchase at which point I refused each time. Who wa t to eat food where you just witness a serious board of health violation. Non washing of hands Placing your bare hands inside of your clothes , touching your body in the food prep area. This is tantemount to being just nasty .

After the manager decided to try to force me to leave , only after I called 911 to just get my money back , then and only then did I decide to leave.

Never go to this place. I never got a chance to try the food but the food safety rules were...

I arrived at this establishment on Easter Sunday April 20th at approximately 4:00 PM I placed the order for the half slab of ribs with the three chicken wings two banana puddings and a half pound of the brisket when I say I was highly disappointed The ribs were hard the brisket was fatty the chicken wings was raw basically raw half cooked the banana pudding was basically cookies pieces of banana and whipped cream there is no pudding in it whatsoever and it also had hard cookies when I say hard I mean fresh out the box cookies when I address the problem about the banana pudding because I only wanted a refund for the banana pudding because I did not eat it The man told me why do I need a refund I said I just don't want the the pudding he say why I say because the cookies are hard there's no pudding what else is there to explain. He proceeded to go in the refrigerator and show me a pan of pudding which looked completely different from the putting that was put in the bowl for us he proceeded to go to see his manager Dominique. Which he found smoking marijuana in front of the restaurant. Once he was out there for approximately 10 minutes and I didn't see the manager come in I stepped outside and asked through anybody know where Dominique is everybody say it no I said so nobody knows where the manager is Dominique the same person that said that wasn't her proceeded to step out the car get in my face and tell me why am I coming to her car what's my problem I said I have a complaint isn't this your establishment she said yes just a heads up do not go to this establishment they're rude they're nasty I don't know what those other reviews are talking about but do not go do not waste your money it was $100 down the drain do not believe the pictures That's how they got me I believe the pictures don't believe...
