I was excited when I saw this charming shop as it prepared to open a few months ago, while the crew was putting the finishing touches on the beautiful interior of the shop. I finally made it in there yesterday, excited to place an order and try out the sandwiches at last. I was disappointed in the sandwich I triedđ, a simple tuna fish sandwich. It was on a very narrow croissant with no seasoning, onions or any additions apart from three tiny, thin tomato slices. The tuna was not very good. It cost a whopping 7 (seven) dollars!!! Again, I was disappointed as I would have gladly made this a regular stop for sandwiches or snacks. I was VERY PLEASED though with the desserts. I ordered two cake slices which were generous for the $4 each paid for them. They were peanut butter and chocolate and carrot cake. Really good! So, if I go back, it will be for desserts and perhaps to try coffee next time. I hope and trust that the owners and employees will put a little more thought into how they make the sandwiches as this is obviously the mainstay of this beautiful, new sandwich shop for the community....
Read moreI had such a great time visiting The Little Sandwich House on Oakenwald in Chicago. From the moment I walked in, the vibes were welcoming and calmâperfect for a relaxing lunch or even getting some work done. The aesthetics are super cozy and thoughtfully designed, giving it a unique charm that stands out. I was really impressed as Iâm an interior designer.
They offer a nice variety of smoothies, pastries, and sandwiches. I ordered the Ham & Turkey Sandwich, which typically isnât made Panini style, but the staff was so kind and accommodating. They made it Panini style just for me, and it was delicious!

Only drawback -- and this has little to do with Little Sandwich House -- I was (of course) prompted to tip before the order was prepared. That is how these online payment sites work. I did not tip because I'd never done business with them before, and it was a pick up order. Nonetheless, they provided impeccable service. I would have left a generous tip after I saw how perfectly everything was executed.
I will go back for lunch (maybe today). The food was delectable, and the vibe of the sandwich house was...
